Technically you can book a medical as soon as you know your Case Number. The medical doctor doesn't ask for an Interview date, just the case number.

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...ical_letter.pdf

Medical in the UK is valid for up to 12 months.

I would wait for the embassy to receive the petition first. Call DOS once they confirm London have received the petition, book your medical.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Yes I would suggest to continue to get paper together. Collate evidence as well:

Phone records - landlines, mobile

emails

proof of postage sent

MSN conversations (if any)

Get medical vaccination records together etc

Wait for Packet 3 and then book your medical.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

I would get a couple of sets atleast. My fiance has already been through 2 sets and still needs one more for the interview. He only had one left. From the medical to the police certificate to the embassy forms, he has used quite a lot.

Just a side note: UK passport photos can be used for the medical. They are less expensive.

Now hold on a second.... where would Riggs find American style passport photos? Can't he just use the picture booth in Morrisons every time??? So far that has worked... even for the I-129F, we both had pics taken in that booth, used the time and place stamp on the extra 2 pictures as evidence of being together (technically in the same place at the same time :innocent: ) as well as the picture for the 325A or whatever... that 5 page thing was.

When you go to the interview, your photos must meet these requirements: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/acs/p...orts/photo.html

Ian went to Snappy Snaps. I haven't been to Morrisons, so I can't answer to that.

hi all... quick question..

i sent the checklist in yesterday after setting up my medical date.. however I got confused since it says on the form not to send any documents so this is all I sent in. I take it from what I have been reading I should have included all of the DS forms with this??

Yes you should send in the DS forms, but not any supporting documentation like birth certificates, etc. It is ok if the checklist and the DS forms don't arrive together.

Yes. All forms you send in, all documents you take with you to the embassy.

No worries, just put your DS etc. forms in an envelope and send them off. Hold onto your Birth cert, police cert, passport, etc and take them with you to the interview. You will probably want to print off and send another checklist with all of those in case they get confused. :)

Grr. It's been 5 days since USE got our petition but they haven't entered us into the system yet. Not that it actually matters, lol, since we're asking for a February interview. I just want to move along all the parts that we can't control.

My co-workers and friends can't believe how much paperwork and stress goes into the immigration process; "Shouldn't he be able to come over right away? Don't we really like England? I'll vouch for David, he's a great guy!" and in the case of my sister, "Is Tony Blair still the Prime Minister? He was sooo hot."

I have to admit, I had no idea of this undercurrent myself. I'm just so happy to be so ridiculously lucky with the process going so smoothly and fast so far.

ok another quick question.. probably already asked by 93 pages is a lot to go through :-)

it says you have to send a photograph... however the passport photos are different to those you get over in the US. Are the style passport photos acceptable for this.. not really sure what i can do otherwise??

You take the photo in with the interview. It has to be a US sized picture; the medical can be a UK sized one. Do a search on the forum; I think there's a website online you can order them from.
