Yes, phoning the DOS is handy. I forgot to ask them yesterday WHEN the London consulate received and logged our petition so I called today and found out that they logged us on Oct 8th, so we have a little bit before a interview...but still....i'm just PO'd cause a friend on VJ had theirs logged Oct 1st and their interview is Oct 21st, talk about LUCKY. ARRRGH.

See, we have a little time as we would like our wedding to be Sept 10, 2010 and it will be ideal for me to leave England for the States in June so we can save a little bit more money due to me not being able to work. Our I-129F runs out 25th Jan so if we get an interview in Jan that would be perfect! I hope you guys dont have to wait to long, its the waiting that sucks :( Just think though, soon all of this will be over and you'll be together always :)

You have way more strength than me! This wait to be with Nigel is really difficult...miss him big time! The sooner the better over here!

Dont get me wrong, the wait is killing me! I love Patrick so much that it truly hurts not being with him but i also know we would like a nice wedding, nice furniture and all of that costs money. At least when we have the visa in hand its only a countdown til were together forever rather than a week or two. Good luck with getting your interview. Let me know how long it took to get it.

Me, we're waiting for a interview, its been a week since they logged it...I donnoooooooooooooooooooo...i'm frustrated and mad and getting impatient and bitter and jealous and well....all those things....lol

whoo, DHL confirmed that our petition has arrived in the UK! Onwards to packet 3!

We're going to write a letter to delay the interview until at least mid-February, which puts us just over our NOA2 expiration date...I've read some conflicting reports about getting notarized updated letters of intent. Thoughts on this? Should I just get one (the USC), or both of us? He's coming in early Feb for an engaged encounter retreat as required by our religion and to meet all my relatives and friends :) so that's why we can't do it sooner and our wedding isn't until mid September in any case...

I believe you just need the updated letter of intent from the petitioner notarized. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong?! Keep in mind you'll want to wait to collect all the forms until closer to the time of the interview. Since he's coming in Feb gives you a good time to collect everything and prepare! I hope everything works out perfectly for the 2 of you and I wish you both the best of luck!!

Yes, you are correct: only an updated letter of intent from the petitioner (USC) needs to be notarized. The beneficiary (K-1 applicant) can also include a letter of intent, but that does not need to be notarized.

Why is that? I thought the police certificate was valid for 1 year and the DS forms aren't going to change in the next few months...

I'm waiting until January to ask a letter from my boss and the notarized letter, but everything else I was under the impression that I could get now.

Sorry to jump in, but now I'm paranoid, lol...

The notarized, updated letter of intent from the USC - I read that's only necessary if the interview is more than four months after NOA2, which would be their case in February, right?

It's not something needed across the board now, is it?

Just wondering, I'm readying my documents to send to my British fiance, and will include that, if needed.

Thanks. :)

The updated letter of intent only needs to be notarized if your interview takes place more than 4 months after the NOA2.

Sorry for the confusion.. The DS papers need sent back right away and the police certificate is valid 1 year.. I meant the I-134 and supporting documents. I'm sorry about that.
