Right.....I have now been waiting for 4 weeks for my package 4. So, I called the embassy premium helpline again today.

Because i have been waiting 4 weeks, the nice man gave me an email address and a special reference number so i can ask for a status update directly and try and get some answers on why its taking so long.

I just wanted to let others know that this is the procedure. Only after 90 days will they give you a special reference number to have your questions answered. Before then, there is no point calling them really.

I wish i had known this before!

Hope that helps a few of you and goodluck! .

How long is it taking for London to put the packet 3's into the system?

I am wondering because my fiance sent a new DS-157 on Fri. Sept 18, 09 (as per embassy's request). But he emailed the DS-157 to the embassy because the embassy asked for it in an email attachment. DOS is telling us that it is still not in the system. I am thinking the embassy is not quick enough updating their system...so I was wondering how long it is taking for packet 3's being put in the system from the time they are received by the embassy.

Hey,

I tracked my packet 3 Online, and it got to the embassy on Monday, and was in the system by yesterday.. They've quickened up no end lately, so good luck for all u guys waiting!

So if it takes 90 days, how come you got a special ref number after 4 weeks? I am confused.

So if it takes 90 days, how come you got a special ref number after 4 weeks? I am confused.

Unfortunately, the information that you can get a code only after 90 days or 4 weeks...it is all dependant on the operator who answers the call. It is up to the operator to give you the code or not, however they deem appropriate and they can give you the excuse that only after 90 days you can get the code or 4 weeks, whatever the case is, it is up to the operator's discretion. There is no hard and fast rule. But it is a fact that the US Embassy in London will not answer any emails asking for status updates (even if you email with the special code) for those put on Administrative Review/Administrative Processing for less than 90 days, after 90 days, they reply to the emails,(of course, given that you email them with the special code) but this is besides the point and only applies to those under AP/AR AFTER the interview. Otherwise, whatever the operator tells you, you have to deal with :(. I know it is extremely frustrating, especially since London is so difficult to get in contact with...hope that everything gets sorted out soon for everyone!

Doh! My brain is going to explode!! Everytime i called the Embassy they told me in 4 weeks they could look into my case.

below, is part of the email they sent me.....30 days, 60 days they are all rolling in to one!! lol

There is no mechanism for "status checks" while a visa application is

being processed. Inquiries concerning cases which require

administrative processing or background checks, and which have been

pending less than 90 days, will not be answered.

My crazy man went to the Basil street medical office instead of the Bentick Mansions one, but made it a bit late to the right one and they were ok about it! Had the famous blonde doctor and so far so good....sent off our packet 3 today so now we're in the running for packet 4! Crossing fingers for a November-ish interview! PLEEEEZEEEEEE! lol

Like I said before, when my fiance called them a couple weeks ago, they told us when his packet 3 was received. He asked how long it would take to get an interview date. The man said 6-8 weeks, then said the interview date would be 6-8 weeks after that.

We got our interview letter 3 days after that call, with an interview date of Oct. 22.

My fiance and I received email notification that our NOA2 was approved on 09/23/2009. The NVC received it on 09/25/2009. The file has not been sent to the embassy as of yet but from advise taken from VJ, I wanted to get my documents together that I will be sending to my fiance. I do earn barely over the poverty line and because of that I was going to add my mother as a co-sponsor just to cover our basis and help to make our case look stronger. From what I have seen, we are looking at the minimum of 60 days, not including additional delays. My concern is if I go ahead and request a letter from my employer, paystubs, etc...and the letter from my bank that the documents will be dated to early. Is that an issue? Should I wait to request these documents after we know that the embassy has received our file, or after he has received package 4? If someone has any advise, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if I do meet the requirements for the I-134 but barely does it matter either way if I have a co-sponsor? I figured it couldn't hurt but I wanted to make sure....
