This is the checklist http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/...ess_K_visas.pdf

And thank God they've put it online now.

It seems the NEW procedure is do two copies of all four documents, no matter your gender. They have most definitely changed this webpage of instructions, so read it again if you are just starting P3. If you've already submitted, then like Talyss they will catch you up by handing you a form DS157 when you get there. Save time by doing it now and taking with you. If you didn't submit two copies of everything, then they will make their own copies for their files. It sounds like a cost cutting measure to instruct people from here on out to make two copies. If you already mailed, then you followed the rules posted at the time so don't worry about two copies of each.

DS230, part 1 which is pages 1 & 2 - Okay to sign

Ds156 - - Okay to sign

DS157 - no place to sign

DS156K - DO NOT WRITE BELOW THIS LINE The consular officer will assist you in answering this part, so don't write/sign below.

And don't be confused by that seciton of the 156K that says "the following must be attached..." This is a worldwide form so is somewhat generic. London wants you to bring those in hand to the interview and the checklist you sign tells them you've got them in your hands ready to bring.

My sincere thanks to you Nich (F). I thought it was that way but I wanted to know if anyone did it differently or if I was missing a point somewhere.

You're welcome. That's just how I interpret the current information from reading the page and looking at at the forms.

That website has changed from when I looked at it last night. I noticed where its written in red to submit the forms in duplicate that yesterday it said Note: Note: Forms DS-156, DS-156K etc. I was thinking "typo" but looks like somebody noticed and took out the extra "Note:".

So looking at today's version again, it's only saying to do 3 forms in duplicate and the DS 230 part 1 seems to be a single copy.

I had a question for the I-134...

#11) I intend OR should I put I do not intend? And what about our cosponsor? Intend or I do not intend?

I know the guides say "I do not intend", but I have read elsewhere on VJ that the embassy prefers "I intend"...

People who recently interviewed at London, what did you do?

So bizarre how it changes so fast. I did not fill out the 157 before or at my interview less than a week before Talyss.

Maybe this is another one of those "Just follow the directions, don't you know how to do that..." question, but here goes:

Since I am a F/T student, and made about $500 doing some temporary work in 08 that lasted a week, I don't have much to show on the tax return for 08 and neither will it be any good on the I-134 for me. We have a co-sponsor, but I wanted to know: Should I write amount $500 for total income this year on my I-134, or just write "0" income and that I am a full time student?

I would put down the 500 if that's what you currently will earn in a year at whatever you're doing now. If you aren't working at all and don't have any near future plans, then you earn zero. The question isn't what's on your tax return, but my current income is... Does that make sense? In your case it doesn't really matter because they will move on to the co-sponsor pretty quickly.

On that question about ticking the the box on __intend or __do not intend...I think your co-sponsor should say intend and some little phrase that covers everything. He doesn't have to outline a monthly allowance, but if it's your parents and you're going to live with them or they're paying for your apartment then maybe mention in what way co-sponsor is helping. Since the co-sponsor isn't marrying your fiance, I think they need to say they intend to help.

Just a note: Like all the other forms, Affidavits of Support are also is one-size-fits-all. There are employers or church groups that might be sponsoring a different immigrant visa that are going to provide a exact amount of monthly income, a home, a monthly stipend, etc. so they would be the ones who have very specific things they are agreeing to provide for an exact amount of time. With a spouse or future son-in-law it's a little more of whatever is needed to provide for them for as long as it's needed.

Thanks Nich,

I am putting down "0" income on my I-134, and just in case they wonder about that, I have a letter from my college stating that I am a F/T student, and a letter by me explaining that I am graduating with my degree this year. I know the CO won't bother with these documents since I have a cosponsor, but it gives me comfort that I did all I could.

My mother is the co-sponsor, so she has her 90K+ income on her I-134, has two partial dependents (my two younger sisters) and is including her joint tax returns with my dad as well as her W-2s. And she has marked I intend with an explanation to the effect of: I intend to support by all means including all monetary expenses, living accommodations, and any other financial support necessary to ensure that he will not become a public charge.

Now I am going to stop double triple checking this part of the game, everything is locked in. :star:
