Hi All -

So, Mark goes to London for his medical and interview on Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th. He's concerned about where to stow his bag while he's at the embassy. Anyone have any suggestions?

It's right up the road. See where it says USA just below the orange circle? That's the embassy. I think my husband payed 5 pounds to leave his cell phone and ipod.

Hey everyone, i'm a little confused as to if i'm supposed to be doing anything now concerning my interview. I received a letter from the NVC dated August 14th that said they were mailing my details to the London embassy and that they would send me a packet regarding what the next step should be and I haven't heard anything yet. I already know roughly what needs to be done; police certificate, medical, i-134 ect. but I am yet to hear anything from the embassy, are they actually going to get in contact with me, or do I make the first move? Thanks for your help!

Hi Martin!

Your profile's not set up yet, so I'll have to make some assumptions: You're applying for a K1, right?

There are a few things that you can do. First, call NVC and see if your packet has left them yet. The number is probably on your NOA2. (603) 334-0700 I think you have to get to an operator because the automated system doesn't work for K1s.

If your packet has been sent on to London, they will give you a London case number. It starts with LND. With that, you can schedule your medical. Your fiance(e) can also order their police certificate. http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp

You can work on the I134, gathering your income proofs, ordering your tax transcripts or organizing your cosponsor (if needed).

Your fiance(e) can start getting packet 3 together. We waited until the letter actually came in the mail from the embassy, but others have only waited until the embassy has acknowledged receipt of the file and then sent it. You can find out if the embassy has your file, has sent packet 3, or scheduled an interview by calling DOS (once it's sent on by NVC). 202 663 1225

You may find the information on the Embassy Info page useful: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=London

Things go by faster now. Good luck!!

We got approved, pending the Embassy's receipt of Mark's medical results...so he doesn't have the visa in hand yet, but for all intents and purposes, we're approved...:D

Mark said the interview was kind of a non-event. He said the guy asked how we met, then noticed where Mark works and started asking him all kinds of stuff about RPG's (he works at a games shop)...and there was apparently no other mention of me, our relationship, or why he wants to move...LOL Maybe the big fat folder of stuff that Mark brought in with him proved our case without even having to be opened...;)

Do I understand you to say if your case has a number beginning with the consultate code (ours is Napoli ... NPL) then you can assume your case has been forwarded from NVC to the consulate? !!!

Current Status: Interview ... waived ... I guess :) They just took his fingerprints and documents and told him everything was in order and he should pick up his visa tomorrow! WOW

I can't believe it's only been 7 months since we filed ... seems like an eternity!

No, I don't think so - because it's in the letter that the NVC sends out, but sometimes people get stuck at NVC even after the letter. But, it does mean that it's gotten to the NVC, and into their system to be assigned a new case number.

Had my medical in London yesterday, was a breeze! Only had to wait for an hour and most of that was because I was early and they were a little busy. X-Ray took 2 mins and then quick meeting with doctor to have blood taken and weight/height took another 5 mins... Paid the left!
