I have a quick affidavit of support question for you guys: I gave my fiance a copy of the affidavit of support form with a letter from my employer stating my yearly income, length of time working here, etc. Do I also need to give him a notorized copy of my 2008 tax return to bring to the interview? I want him to have everything he needs when he gets there, but he's quite nervous about the whole thing and I don't want to overwhelm him with paper if he DOESN'T need it.

I did not notarize my form. I just provided a copy of my 2008 taxes (copies of paystubs and letter from employer - and bank account statements and balances). That is all.

Hello all!

I'm from chicago and my fiance is from the uk and we are just waiting for him to get my packet full of info (i-134) so he can send out his stuff for packet 3 back to the embassy.

Of course I didnt know at the time that we needed to prove my co-sponsors citizenship (dad) so I had to reship more papers.....$46 for the first batch of papers weighing at more then 3lbs and $28 for the 4oz copies of my dads passport....crapppyyyyy.

Can't wait to get our interview!! :-D

You'll need to show 2008 taxes - Either W2s+ ALL tax return forms OR 2008 Tax transcripts (for free, go to irs.gov to get them) If you're on the edge of not meeting the requirements, then assets or other years' worth of tax transcripts. I sent 2006, 2007, 2008 Just in case, but I don't think it was necessary. If you handily met the income requirements in 2008, the return/transcripts and recently dated employer letter and/or pay stubs should be sufficient.

Perfect. I'm comfortably above the income cut-off, so I'm going to just give him a copy of my '08 transcripts. He has copies of my paystubs from around the time my employer wrote my letter, as well as the letter itself.

Any guesses on when Packet 3 will arrive from the embassy? I'm guessing Tuesday or so next week. They seem to arrive relatively quickly. Ian's filling out his forms over the weekend.

For us, they got it on April 2, sent it out April 9, we got it April 13, exactly 1 month from NOA2 date.

Just got approved for my NOA2 today and am over the moon, a little under 1 month early! . Trying to make a guesstimate of when I will be arriving there but its still a bit up in the air right now....So much to do....So much weight to loose so little time >.<

Sarah had her medical today, and despite having to get one more jab than she thought she would (I think an extra MMR in addition to the HPV (which we knew about), she's not sure), it all seemed to go pretty well. I've posted her the remainder of the paperwork on my side (the affidavit of support plus some additional relationship evidence) so once she gets that, all we have to do is sit back and wait for her interview. We're quite nervous...considering that the posties seem to have lost her packet 3. You can bet I'll be calling the state department at least once a week.

Hi All -

So, Mark goes to London for his medical and interview on Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th. He's concerned about where to stow his bag while he's at the embassy. Anyone have any suggestions?
