- notarized copies of his or her latest federal income tax return

Is that the case, any photocopies of tax returns (1040/W-2) must be notarized?

Sorry, I should have edited that out.

As pointed out, they don't have to be notarised. My fiancée scanned and emailed her tax returns to me and I just printed them off.

I believe its $5, but dont quote me on that.

edit: thats 5 pounds, not dollars.

Congratulations!!

Yeah, it's £5 at Gould pharmacy. :)

Thanks for the answers guys, I must be going through every little detail in my head right now - so nervous!

I'm trying to get everything sorted now because I have my final coursework assignment due the day before the interview (great timing huh?) so what with that (and the 9-to-5 of course) I seem to have precious little time to organise. Agh!

So, checking through - I have all the stuff now I think - new I-134 with corrected Q11 turned up yesterday, so I have that, tax transcripts, pay stubs and employers letter. And also all the other stuff with the 'pink dots' on mrandmrs' checklist! (plus a few things more)

Quick question: I saw made a typo on one of my answers in Packet 3 - pretty small but it was on the 'visits to US' dates (where it just asks for month/year) - I accidently put that I left a month later than i really did (no idea how, I thought I checked it a million times!). Should I actively point this out at the interview (which part - the first or second person?) or should I wait for them to question it (it will be inconsistant with an answer on one of the other forms)? I'm sure I should, I was just wondering if anyone else has had to explain something like that before?

MARM, I have my fingers crossed again for your passport turning up! And mrs_sdp - glad you are ok with your letter now, and have fun doing the toursit thing in London!

Hmm, personally I would let them know when they ask about trips to the U.S (if they do ask - they did with me, just about the longest time I've been over there).

With the date changing to a month later, does it make it look like an overstay? If so, I would definitely mention it.

Yeah, I've realised it is on one of the additional sheets i attached to the form, so I might just print out a new additional sheet to take and ask them to replace it.

It's changing from Jul-Sept to Jul-Aug, I left at the end of August though so technically Sept was only a week later. So it shouldn't look like an overstay or anything but I am worried it will look dodgy and am kicking myself for not picking it up before! I believe honesty is the best policy though so am hoping all will be ok....

Human error is not a reason to worry about, you did not purposely withhold information. Just let them know on the day of the interview and you will be fine.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

I agree ... just explain it was a typo. They probably won't even notice, but if you're like me ... then things like that will worry you  - best just tell them so you can relax!!

I'm not sure If I'll get online much early next week, OTHER than to (hopefully) let you all know that I've been "approved pending medical results" .... I can't wait to get one of those wee red stars!!

I'll catch up with you all soon ... take care and good luck!

Rang DOS just to check whether our packet 3 information had been put onto the system and.....

Instead....

We found out our interview date! 12th June!

Those waiting to hear....if you haven't rung DOS yet, it might be worth doing so, they only received our packet on the first of this month and there was a bank holiday in there somewhere.

:D

I think you have a good chance to be together by the end of July, but if you want to speed things up a tiny bit to make sure, you could go ahead and send Packet 3 after you are sure the Embassy has your file...and not wait for them to send you Packet 3. I think waiting for Packet 3 after the Embassy got my file was the longest part of the Embassy stage for us...

No problems at all. Packet 3 and 4 went to two separate addresses only 3 weeks apart and they seemed to cope fine with that.
