Thanks MARM. Stinky Monkey suggested the same so I've called the 09042 line, got the code, sent the email and got the automated response back. Now all is left to do is to sit tight and wait. But thanks for the info. I'm sure it will useful to number of other people as well.

Good luck tomorrow on the medical.

Your welcome, and the review is up for my fiance's medical, he had it earlier today :), it went well.

Glad to hear that! My fiance finished his about an hour ago. The first thing he said was that it was horrible. But, the more I asked, I think everything was fine in the end, but just not a pleasant experience. He had the Indian woman doctor, and it sounds like she was every bit as mean to him as other people have said. Am waiting for him to get back home so I can call and find out the rest, then I will write a review.

OK, now that I have talked to my fiance properly, turns out, the Indian doctor "wasn't that bad". I have NO idea why he told me it was horrible! I think the "horrible" part was just that it was in London, and it was a doctor. I couldn't believe he said the Indian lady wasn't that bad. And from what he told me, she WAS pretty mean in a few ways. I don't know.

He wasn't supposed to get to Xray back right? When does he get that?

He gets the Xray back at the interview. :star:

I've just been reading BritistExpat.com website.

Some guy on their called 'agentpeppermint' had an interview in London in March '09 & was told that NHS doesn't cover him in US so he was given a slip & told he had to find 12months health insurance (not travel insurance) & send proof back to the embassy before they'd issue the visa!

This is a new one. Anyone else heard of this?

Yeah I read about that in the same place, although haven't read anything on VJ. I'm probably going to get health cover for first couple months then I already have a letter from my fiance's employer saying he can add me to his cover after we're married. Hoping that will be ok for the interview - but who knows, sounds like you can get blue slip for almost anything on the day.

Sorry, but that sounds like something else is going on there that the BritishExpats member hasn't mentioned. You cannot be denied or even put into AP for lack of insurance -- there is NOTHING in the INA that says anything about that. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Seriously, at all. :)

Agentpeppermint's fiance has some serious mental health issues. That could be why they insisted on the insurance.

I assumed it was a major medical issue -- worried about the UKC being a burden on the state. Thanks for the clarification, Muffin.

Ah right. I wondered why the CO would be so mean as it doesn't say anything about needing insurance on the Embassy website. Phew..

Thanks for clearing that up.

So I was thinking more about this today - forget about for the interview, but are most people not bothering with getting health cover for the time before their marriage just in general? I mean, I guess maybe most people won't be waiting 8 weeks like me? Or this there some other scheme people are going to use? I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts. Thanks.

vermont has health care available to all vermonters. i qualify for 'low-income' health insurance, and when jamie gets here it sounds like we will still qualify for that insurance. ill know for sure when i submit a change of status to the state.

OK, just now getting the Evidence of Support forms all sorted out and my fiancee says to me she has her recent tax return. However I'm a little bemused by the fact that the 1040 according to her is 10 pages long! (With the W-2 only being a single page.) Does that mean she will have to photocopy all ten pages or is there like a summary (single) page of the tax return itself that she should be sending me. If so can someone provide a link to a copy of this form on the net. Thanks!

Is there a way to swap interview dates?? Laura i know you wanted an early one, we got ours for May 22!

Yep, my fiance's 2008 tax return is 28 pages long! I had to copy that. I would copy the whole thing just to be sure.

Even if there was, you have been waiting far long enough! You deserve having a fast one :) I wouldn't trade with you after you've waited so long! But if someone who HASN'T been waiting so long wants to trade.......just kidding!
