Anyone else feel weird about going to their employer and getting the letter for the I-134? I've been putting it off, havent been able to muster up the nerve.:blush:

Was no big deal really. My HR department said they get requests for that sort of thing often. I even used the notary in our legal department to notarize whatever items needed it.

Your mileage may vary,

90 days starts when you step on American soil and present the K1 visa to the immigration officers. They will write the date on his I-94 card and I think on the visa. I think Nick's has an entry stamp kinda half on the visa and half on the next page and they handwrote the 90th day date near the stamp. So your guy's will be approx Aug 7 written on his stuff. That's some of what they do when they take you off to another room to process the POE stuff and open the brown envelope. Sometimes they staple the I-94 inside the passport, but they just handed Nick his.

Ok thank you very much that is very helpful and gives me a little bit more time to plan things. Whewww...

So....

I thought i could join this thread and get excited about getting my packet 3!

Wrong...i got suspicious as to why London didn't have it on the system and called NVC.

Apparently....we are on AP. :( Anyone else on this thread had experience of that at NVC stage? Or are David and I just lucky enough to have received extra attention from those lovely folks at NVC.

On the plus side....I have been in NVC AP for 28 days...and didn't even know it. So hopefully we'll get out soon.

Oh, that's sucks!

Hopefully you'll get out soon.

Did the NVC give you your London case number? Or does that only happen after they've processed it?

If you have it, you should be able to go ahead and book your medical to get things moving. Getting Police certificates and the like is also something else you can be doing.

Thanks Marty. Yeah I have a case number, they sent it in their letter of lies (we will be sending your petition to London in one week bla bla bla bull***t - I'm mad, can you tell :innocent: )

The medical is booked for May, I did that yesterday. I'm just upset.....I was going to go over in September but just this week we decided that we could afford for me to go over in July.....and now this happens.

Trouble is.....I have been horribly organised (not like me AT ALL!!!) and have all my forms filled out, police cert sorted, medical good to go. Dave's stuff is on the way over. I hate living this half life. I hate my job and i miss my BFG!

I'd do it all again for him though.....(dang I am SOPPY!) I might have to take up a new hobby to fill in the waiting time. Like knitting, or sky diving.....or baking cakes.

Thanks :). I'm trying to be patient, but it's never been a strong point. Your right of course, by the time i get there I will be so well prepared i'll even scare myself :)

I'm going to go and have a few glasses of wine and mix them with my cold medicine. I'm sure the fact that I'm poorly is making this all seem even more distressing. Tonight is the first night have gotten to speak to dave since last sunday....so I'm going to enjoy spending some time with my BFG this evening :D

Have a wonderful BH weekend

Just a quick question...on the checklist included with Packet 3, it says "notarized statement"....what is this referring to? And also, when we have to check the boxes for the documents, I am assuming we only check what applied to us?

Now you've got me concerned that we might be in AP! I thought with a case number it meant I'd passed that part...Argh. And then to be feeling sick on top of that!! Sorry things aren't going well, and hope they turn upwards soon!!

Regarding the employment letter, I simply explained that I was sponsoring my fiance's visa to the US and needed to prove my ability to support him financially as he wouldn't be allowed to work for several months, and a letter from my employer with the following points was required. (and then a list of all the things needed to be covered) I went and picked it up the day after. I noticed as she was sorting through her files that there were a few other employment letters for other people, and there were no questions regarding my request.

A couple of you know but we are cancelling our visa application. Things have gone too far downhill to even think about emigrating and getting married at the moment.

Awww I'm sorry you're stuck in AP & I know what you mean about living a half life. I feel exactly the same. It's difficult to see friends getting on with their lives & we're stuck in limbo..waiting.....endless waiting.

I can't believe that by the time I get my interview it'll be 1 YEAR since we filed our petition!! It really sucks big time.

I see you guys got approved the same day we did. We recieved a letter stating that they were sending it to london. I called london twice, they hadnt recieved anything. So today I called NVC and was told I was in administrative processing. I just assumed because they had sent that letter and had assigned me a case number....everything was fine!

Have you recieved a packet 3 letter yet?

I went into AP at the NVC, I see you've already found the stuck in AP at NVC thread. All I can say is hold on in, there is an end although it doesn't seem like it when everyone else is flying through the nvc and getting interview dates.

A couple of you know but we are cancelling our visa application. Things have gone too far downhill to even think about emigrating and getting married at the moment.
