Question guys, I know this has been asked a million times before, but by when do you think the embassy will receive our case? It was sent out from NVC on Feb 12, 09 to London. I know the tracking method, but for a general idea, how soon should the embassy have our case?

They can be very slow at logging them on to the system. So they may have them 3-4 days after NVC send them (according to DHL) but don't do anything with them. Best way to find out is to ring the DoS helpline, they will tell you when it has been put on the embassy system. Ours left NVC 12th Jan and they didn't put it on the embassy system until 26th Jan. I spent a lot of time looking at timelines and I think 2 weeks is worse case scenario so hopefully it will be quicker than that for you :)

Thanks Talyss and Terri!

I am getting ready to mail some documents to my fiance in London.

I wanted to know whether I should REALLY be sending him a whole set of the I-129F we filed?

Does London really ask for this? Or is this just a VJ formality? I know it is not needed for Packet 3 response, but what about the interview?

And should my fiance also have my original divorce decree for the interview? (I sent an original divorce decree with my I-129F petition. By original, I mean a stamped, embossed, and signed by the County Clerk copy...the actual original is of course only with the Court Records and unobtainable, every time I ask them for an "original" I get a stamped, embossed, and signed by the clerk copy of the divorce decree)

I don't want to confuse my fiance with a load of paper/documents that will not really be needed in London. So far, this is what I plan on sending him (please advise!)

My I-134: 1 original, 1 copy (I am a student)

2008 tax return (1 copy)

2008 W-2 (1 copy)

Letter from college (1 original, 1 copy)

Letter by me describing that I will graduate soon, get a job...etc. (1 original, 1 copy)

Mother's I-134: 1 original, 1 copy (she is the co-sponsor)

2006,2007, 2008 tax returns (1 copy of each year)

2006, 2007, 2008 W-2s ( 1 copy of each year)

Letter from employer (1 original, 1 copy)

Current pay stubs (Originals? Copies?)

Copy of biographical page of passport (to prove she is a USC) 1 copy

Copy of naturalization certificate (to prove she is a USC) 1 copy

Letter by her describing that she is co-sponsoring because I am a full time student...etc. (1 original, 1 copy)

Should I be making a duplicate copy of any of the above?

Updated letter of intent to marry, from each of us (1 original, 1 copy from each of us)

Email correspondence: inbox screen-shots ONLY from when we met until present

Cell Phone records: from when we met until present

40 captioned pictures of us together in various places, with friends and family as well

Original Evidence of trips we made to see each other (includes: boarding passes, air ticket receipts, hotel receipts, copy of passports' stamp pages, itineraries)

Should I be making copies of any of the above?

Thanks for all of your suggestions and advice in advance! :star:

They won't need a copy of the I-129f or the NOA2. If you sent a certified copy of your divorce decree originally then they shouldn't need another one.

With regard to the supporting documentation for the afadavit of support I am not sure which information they will keep. They will want the original I-134s so not sure you need to worry about copies of those.

You may want to get your fiance to photocopy your original boarding passes, hotel receipts etc in case they want to keep hold of them. I know they normally don't want to see any of these things at London but I believe in erring on the side of caution and those particular items can't be replaced if the embassy holds onto them and then loses them!

I'd save your postage dollars and get him to make the copies, it will be much cheaper.

I think that copies of paystubbs will be fine, I got Charley to scan his latest one and his W2 and I printed ithem out as all his evidence was from the end of November when we got our NA02.

I was told a different thing.....

To Def. have a copy of the entire packet i-129f that you sent. With this you will bring all the originals (birth certificates are a MUST, photos, if you sent evidence of phone records, cards, bring those, passports would be a real plus for the US fiance).

I have read some people werent asked about it and some people were. My fiance is bringing it anyway just incase. We are thinking along the lines to bring too much then not bring enuff and end up with a bitchy interviewer on that day.

(and this copy of the entire i-129f is a formality for the INTERVIEW...it has nothing to do with packet 3--since packet 3 is mainly a check list and a bunch of other paperwork).

Your fiance can just bring a copy of the divorce degree....as this should have been in the i-129f petition you originally sent out....if you made an entire copy of it send one copy to your fiance and the copy of the degree should already be in there anyway. Make sure someone ALWAYS has a copy of the i-129f. You never know if the mail could lose it.

You should go to your bank and get a letter with last years total deposits, how long you have had your account open for, and what is your current balance. This is on the check list for the affadavit of support! and make sure you get your mom to go to the bank too and get this....this is a BIG piece of great evidence of financial support. Your bank should have a person there that can certify the letters....a notary is what they call it. These people will be registered with the state.

I am not sure if you are a full time student/part time or have a part time job at all....but if you have a part time job at all....go to them and have them make a letter (address of london embassy at top, date it). Letter should state how long you have worked there, your current prospects of keeping the job, your monthly or annual salary, and if you are a part time/full time worker. Sign it with your bosses signature and their title, address, and company phone.

Make sure your mom does this too with her employer--i see you did that tho, great!

Copies of pay stubs are fine....dont need to bring them to the interview. I dont think they can expect you to bring your parents original pay stubs with you....as my father burns all of his for his own reasons.

For the emails, print 1-3 out of that...any personal information can be blacked out.

make sure the new letter of intents are 2 separate letters and are originally signed by each of you (your fiance signs one, you sign the other).

bringing a copy all the originals that you are bringing with you.. I know this is a lot, but they could ask to keep something.

My fiance has 2 thick binders he is taking with him (3-ring) and has separator files with tabs on the sides....so he just slid the papers into the clear separators so its easy to just pull out when they ask for certain things from him. you can do it however you want tho :)

hope that helps

I will take it, but was going to take a e-mail per week, think I might now do one every fortnight

I will get there in the end hahahahahaha

And Todd has already banned me from VJ as he says I am stressing to much, but it is not him having the interview and I never do what I am told hahaha

You're getting paranoid again, mate. Read all 300+ reviews of the London Embassy and show me how many say the officer said "show me your pictures and let me read your emails." Sure if you ask he will say "it was nice you came prepared" (as he chuckles at your sagging shoulders from lugging all that paperwork) because he's being polite.

SKparker two thick binders is seriously over the top. All of you are going to have ulcers from worry. Proof of income says bring two of the following <suggested items>. If you've got two solid proofs, then that's all you need. If you got one good (latest) tax return, that's all you need. If you're marginal on the income, then more proof is better. If you have a solid 2008 and weak/under required level 2006, then you're crazy to show the 2006. You are allowed to show the second and third latest if you think they will help your cause.

OK, I'm done ranting about your paranoia. And I feel better. hahahahaha Sorry

Nich not gonna read any more stuff, I know we are bone fide, I have everything just got to put it together which I will do the weekend before the interview, so I dont have it to go over and over again, worst case I get approved pending additional evidence so what..........get delayd a week, I am not going to get another grey hair over it or a trip to the physio to sort out my back from lugging 10,000 e-mails

I am gonna chill........................or try to hahahahahaha

Thanks Nich

you are my shining star, and Daymo is coming over for a visit the weekend before so if I get paranoid again I am sure he will slap me hahahaha

Lol, the binders was NOT my idea for sure. it was all my fiances. he is just trying to be as organized as possible and thats what he chose first....no point in going back to asda and spending more money if everything he has is easily removable. and he actually has it so organized and compact that its maybe 2, 1.5inch binders. one binder is a copy of the petititon with all originals and the 2nd binder is all the new stuff, new evidence, affadavits, ds forms, marriage intent letters, everything that is required for the 2nd half of this.

and my income wasnt so great last year at all...but i got a much better job in aug.08 so after that i was making MUCH better money....so i included a couple of years worth of tax forms and ill send him a copy of my new 08 w-2 and 08 forms when we find out our interview date. my dad is the co-sponsor but i included so many years worth of taxes for him because he is supporting 3 kids (of course my mom is providing too but just doesnt make as much as him). it was a extra maybe 10 pieces of paper with the extra years worth of tax forms. after ALL of this waiting....im not just doing the required...im guna do a little bit more because im not risking getting a bitchy interview person the day of.

And no stress here or paranoia :) we are 99999999999% confident we will be approved with everything we have. All this organization, copying of papers, and VJ question posts will be all worth it in the next month.

and my fiance has a strong back so its okay if hes got lots of copies, hehe
