hey guys had my operation yesterday :( got a call monday afternoon saying there was a cancelation in the theatre so i could go in! was meant to be on 28th april! which is good because the doc said i couldnt fly out for 3 weeks after OP :) so now my time frame is all back on ! all i got do now is re book my medical as i had to cancel it ( was meant to be tomorrow) :( and send my checklist back to get my interview!

do you guys recomend that i send a letter back with the checklist to explain why the delay in sending the checklist back! could this help me get an interview in april!!

Well when i called the medical people several times prob took me about 2 hours to get through monday around 3-4 .55 ( when i got through) everytime i called it wa sengaged, i was fumming cause i thought i would get charged for canceling my medical! all that was going through my head is that stupid B**ch is probably on the phone to her ignorant friends! obviously im pressuming that her friends are as rude as she is ! LOL

The date on your NOA2 won't have expired since you were approved the end of Jan so you won't need to explain why you are sending the checklist late. You've already sent in the forms so you will be ok.

If you were sending it after or close to the expiration date then I would send a letter asking for an extension. But you don't need to do that.

Hi! this is my first post in this thread, but I have posted tons of other questions already! I just got NOA2 on 3/23 in an email. I was wondering how long after you got NOA2 did you start calling NVC to see if they have your case. Did you wait until you had the paper copy of NOA2? Thanks!

I started calling a couple days after NOA2 but could never get hold of someone, so I gave up and rang the embassy a couple of weeks later.

When you ring NVC you have to select the option to speak to an operator as I129F/K1 are not on the automated system.

I knew about the operator thing, but thanks for the info :) Its easy to forget...especially since after getting NOA2 I seem to have lost all knowledge of what to do now! haha.

I called about 4pm UK time, which is what midday EST? Everyone was calling during their lunchbreaks! I'm kinda impatient so I gave up after a few days.

Hey Laura---keep after trying to get that NOA2 hard copy. It's real important for the AOS process because you have to submit a photocopy of it to show your legal basis for adjusting status. I've read about people who've misplaced theirs and I think it's very costly to get another. So try to make them send you one now before too much time goes by. A month is a long time, especially since you know the petition has moved on out of there. It'll be one less hoop to jump through later if you can get it.

I don't remember where, but I saw something somewhere (i thought) that said if you don't get NOA2 hardcopy within a month of the NOA2 being approved, you are supposed to call. I could be completely wrong, since I can't find where I saw this! But definitely, I would call!

Side note: At first I thought this post was in reference to me! I am not used to sharing a name with ANYONE haha. Its kinda nice :)

Yeah we are going to call soon. It might be taking it's time as it's being forwarded from Bahrain.

Just reading that, my stomach's churning...eep, I'm SO nervous. The review was great by the way

Magpie.

dont be nervous! the point of the reviews are to ease the tension...but normal nervousness i dont think you can ever get to go away. I was nervous this morning because i moved the majority of my stuff to our new apartment! silly i know.

Ill be sure to ask stuart about his passport number.....they didnt touch his passport number tho--thats on the passport photo page. they added an totally different page with his picture. but ill still ask him about that in the morning nonetheless, monkey.

Thanks!! yea tomorrow I get to see him finally! and take him back to the new apartment that he has never seen. We have a very busy first day--since we are goin to get our marriage license right away and that way we can set a reservation to get married by the courts in the Chicago Cultural Center (some can get married in the regular courts in a basement...or for $10 extra you can get married in a gorgeous cultural center...so i pick the 2nd one, ha)

Good luck to everyone!

Wow there really is a light at the end of the tunnel! Enjoy the cultural center wedding... we've opted for a sailboat wedding off Florida, prolly sometime in June/July.

Congrats to the two of you from the two of us... and looking forward to dinner some evening in town when Pat gets here forever.

I've completed all the forms for Packet 3 and have been holding off sending them as Tom doesn't have an address yet. He's just arrived at his new base and will be in a 'hotel' on base for a while (max 30 days) whilst he finds an apartment.

How important is it that he has an address? Can I just put To Be Confirmed in the sponsors address box and then tell them his address at the interview? I will be requesting an interview for June onwards, but would like to send the forms soon, to get the ball rolling, and then send the checklist at a later date.

i wouldn't return the forms without an address on them. we put my husbands old address even though we knew he wouldn't be living there when i moved. i changed the address at the embassy after he had moved. if you are looking for an interview after june then i'd just wait for him to move first.

I'm just going to wait. He's been given a week off to find a place so hopefully we'll have an address by the end of next week.

any progress on the search today?

Actually yes! Logged into my work email this morning and got a message from him that we have a place. I knew he was going to look at somewhere last night, it was the first one he'd seen and he thought it might be too small so we weren't sure. Turns out it was perfect. Means I can send the forms off this weekend. Am going to send the checklist off later as I'm still waiting for my police certificate and Tom hasn't done the affidavit stuff.
