I just remembered something. Obama is visiting Europe 31 Mar to 5 Apr and the G20 summit is being held in London that week. I wonder if that's anything to do with it?

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/obama026.html

Oh gawd. That might explain why the next interview after March is later on in April...perhaps they'll still finish interviews on the 30th?

Obama's visit should not have anything to do with the embassy closing...

Also, my fiance just called the embassy (right about closing time) to inquire about our case and I told him to ask about any closings, and the operator said that the embassy is not closed on any days March 30- April 3. K-1 interviews and any scheduled interviews are going to happen, no change or cancellations.

Well that's ok then, must just be the business visas affected. Panic over.

Yes, it may be that business visas are affected. Everyone can relax now  UNLESS, you what a business visa appointment...then I suggest to call the embassy to make sure.

I didn't mean to cause any panic, it's just when I saw it I thought you guys ought to know, just in case as the wording did say that the actual embassy was closing and not certain depts. Maybe they just got the wording mixed up.

It's alright Laura  You were doing your part by informing us of something that very well could have been information the embassy failed to provide us. This visa journey has the potential to make our hearts stop at every step of the way...

Agreed :D. Like I toldja on MSN hon, you were informing us of something which could have potentially messed with our visa dates -- and the embassy does have a tendency to misinform or to fail to post information promptly. We luff you for that.

Well, airline tickets for October are SUPER CHEAP right now, but we don't want to tell people to buy them until we have the visa -- just in case...So we are hoping to get it before prices go up again. I heard that right now is the BEST time to be buying tickets because the fares are the lowest they have been in years....
