Thank you Magpie  So I don't have to mention what I have enclosed in the envelope, correct?

No worries! As long as you have all the documents required before your interview, no :D. You should be good to go. You can mention what's enclosed if you like, just for peace of mind.

Magpie.

Thanks a bunch hun :thumbs::D

Anyone heard any new news on their cases?

What is everyone doing in regards to insurance (health) for when they move over until marriage?? My fiance usually buys international insurance when he visits me....but right now its just too expensive to be putting him on any kind of insurance until he finds a job. Should he just buy a months worth of insurance? ha. Anyone else have ideas on what they are doing?? As of right now, insurance with my company is just too expensive even for me to be on until my fiance gets a job. So I can't really put him on mine at work. :/

the post office annual travel insurance will cover you for the first 17 days after immigration which works well if you have a short time between arrival and getting married. I also came across a company called walkabout that did insurance especially for people emigrating

other than that there are some policies offered bu US companies aimed specifically at immigrants which will cover medical insurance for emergencies that will cover you from between one to 6 months

I had a dream last night I was at the embassy for my interview. I took a white slip and waited for several hours before someone told me I was supposed to have a pink one. Then I had to wait all over again, and finally when I had my interview, there was a problem with one of the forms I posted in and she wanted me to go home, fix it, and then fly back to London again to hand it in. In the end I persuaded her to let me fix it there, but I ended up taking ages, and was the only person there waiting for their interview. All the staff were hanging around, turning lights off etc, waiting for me to finish so they could go home.

I think I need to forget about all this for a day or so if I can!

 Yes. I haven't actually had any dreams about my interview, surprisingly enough...blargh. Just wait 'til it's a week before, and then the bizarre reveries will start crowding my brain.

Bob

Received our Packet 4 in the mail today....now we have everything ready and set for the interview.

I'll have to look into using Cobra for a little bit. We were looking into using regular travel insurance and buying insurance for like 3 months...I found one for about $115 (from March 26-June 30)....this has basic coverage but I would think it would work. $0 deductable too. We haven't made any decisions yet...I'm thinking I need to talk to my mom more about insurance since she is in the Healthcare field

Hi all,

I have been looking this way and that at all the timelines and processing stats, but I would really appreciate your guys' opinion on my situation:

NVC sent our case to London on 26 Feb, and we have a LND case number (I will be booking the medical soon) I realise I could go ahead and send the forms back now before actually receiving packet 3 but I am just trying to figure out when is best to do this. I have a 5-day trip to the US planned in early May for a friend's wedding. Obviously I plan to take a tonne of evidence to show ties back to the UK but since I am hoping for an end of May interview, it might be a bit scary (I have been pulled into secondary before, it's not nice). I will just say I'm there for tourism but if they start asking questions and hear 'wedding' I'm worried they might get the wrong idea!

So, my questions are:

1) To anticipate an interview date 12-31st May, I am thinking of sending my forms back now with a cover leter asking for just that. Should I say the reason is because of a booked visit to the US or just a trip? If I dont' say US they might give me a date before.

2) I'm guessing I will need to mention this trip if asked at the Embassy anyway as it won't be on any of the forms I have filled in - will this delay anything for extra checks?

3) I could just try and time sending the forms right - I'm thinking mid-April ish? Does it still seems London gives interviews a month after receiving the forms? Obviously, I still have the issue surrounding the US trip.

4) Is it a good/bad idea to show an interview appointment letter (if i have one) at the POE as proof of ties if asked? On the one hand, it shows I have to go back, on the other, reason for intent?!

5) Should I maybe abandon the May trip all together? In theory it is allowable and possible and I'd really hate to miss my friends' wedding, but don't want to screw visa things up either.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/opinions/advice!

Is there a reason that you don't want to go to the US on your K1 visa until after May? If you send your packet 3 back now there is a good chance that you could have an April interview (just make sure that they have your case on their system before you send it) if you put that you wanted to travel before the end of April.

When I was in secondary last year the only thing that got me into the country was the fact that I had a copy of our K1 petition and they could see we were trying to follow legal channels but she did warn me that I would not be allowed back in if I attempted to visit again before I got my visa, so I am not sure how hard a time they will give you.

Thanks for quick reply, sorry I didn't make that clear - I don't want to enter the US on the K1 until July, due to having to give notice at work, finish a course I am studying for, tie up loose ends, etc.

When I was in secondary last year the only thing that got me into the country was the fact that I had a copy of our K1 petition and they could see we were trying to follow legal channels but she did warn me that I would not be allowed back in if I attempted to visit again before I got my visa, so I am not sure how hard a time they will give you.

This is good to know, was this before or after your NOA2?

Thanks
