First, you dont need the NOA2 for the interview because they know you are approved....you need the NOA1 though!!!

copy of the i-129f packet--great! make sure that the immigrant has ALL ORIGINAL documents that you sent with the i-129f (ie-photos of proof of relationship, plane tickets/hotel receipts, engagment ring receipt...whatever copies of evidence you sent, bring the original)

Co-sponsors w-2s.....you need 3 years of tax forms...so you need to get 06, 07, and 08 or 05 06 and 07 if you havent filed 08 yet. you need both tax forms AND w-2's. w-2s dont show enough information. I sent them copies of the tax forms i sent to the government and it was fine.

co-sponsor proof of citizenship---better of copying the ENTIRE passport!! this shows that the passport is true to nature. thats what i did atleast and we have a interview :)

cosponsor letter--you dont need to turn in a letter that the sponsor will be sponsoring you--thats the whole point for signing the i-134 forms. :)

make sure that the letter from the bank was notarized and contains your sponsors last years total deposits, total current balance (if your sponsor has checking and saving, get both), and the date the sponsor opened the bank account. also have the bank mention that the sponsor is currently in great standing with the bank.

all sounds good on jess's end. make sure again you have her ORIGINAL birth certificate (i sent my fiance my original birth certificate and gave him my passport for the interview)

make sure both of you made new letters of intent with original signatures

you needed to send that checklist with packet 3 to get the interview. you really should not be sending the packet 3 back without having all the information put together because they can issue a interview tomorrow if they want. it wouldnt be good for you guys if you had to cancel a interview because you dont have all the forms.

just make sure you sent to the embassy packet 3 forms (all ds forms-some signed/some not) along with a completed and signed/dated checklist.

you keep all other forms (w-2s, taxes, affadavits, proof of relationship)

If I can think of anything else, i will let you know

hope that helps!!

and thank you everyone for your congrats to me and my fiance :dancing:

again, if you feel you have waited long enough for your interview, let me know--i can send you a rough copy of what i sent to the embassy---maybe it will help with getting a interview quicker....but AGAIN....this all depends on when you put you wanted to get MARRIED and not when you wanted to travel to the usa. the embassy will try and give you a interview date before your marriage date and not when you wanted to travel. so if you said you are getting married may 20th but you wanted to leave your country march 27th....they are going to most likely issue a interview closer to mid/beginning may.

so if you havent returned packet 3 checklist yet....keep in mind--you can cheat the system a little bit by telling them a rough estimate of a wedding date (of course this doesnt work for people who are having big weddings and have venues picked out and booked and all that--bringing copies of those receipts to the interview are GREAT too....but copies of wedding band payments also is great evidence you are getting married soon).

i want to find someone who is doing this k-1 visa and is picking up their fiance at o'hare at the same day as me, lol. wishful thinking maybe. but stuarts plane fare was booked for march 26th leaving from manchester uk to o'hare nonstop.

anyone else ever take the plane from o'hare to manchester??? just curious :)

OK, I can't stand this any longer without commenting.

COLIN. Can you read? You are acting like a lost little rabbit. As much as you have been posting and reading here, where is your brain?? Do you ever read the instructions that go with the forms? Did you thoroughly read the website pages and all the links that London sends with the P3 letter. Have you printed or bookmarked any information people have posted before that might be useful to you? If you're enough man to move to another country and get married, then you've got to take some responsibility to keep up fellow, and quite waking up in a new world every day. Duh...what do I do now? It's all been laid out in print, so you shouldn't be needing to be spoon fed.

SKParker--How can you speak with such great authority if you haven't been to an interview yet? Your information below is actually full of a lot of information that is false, unnecessary, and will further confuse people in my opinion. London has outlined nicely on their website what one should bring to the interview, other than the I-134 and supporting documents which aren't in the checklist documents. I apologize if I sound like a b1tch, but just because you have been granted an interview by cheating the system and jumping the queue over some other great people on here, doesn't give you personal knowlege about the interview. I think it would be better if you said "this is what I'm preparing to take."

Oh God! I think it's time to retire. I'm turning into rebeccajo. :dead: Who wants to play the role of Pushbrk? We can start a heated argument that goes on for pages and pages. :P

Me neither, that's the first I've heard of it

You don't...the only things you need for the interview are:

Passport

Birth Certificate (Original)

Police Certificate

Colour Photographs (x2)

Evidence of Support (I-134 + tax returns/employment stubs)

Payment

If necessary, bring:

Adoption Certificate

Deed poll/proof of change of name

Marriage, divorce, death certificates

Court record

Military record

Certified translations

You don't have to notorize these documents, but you can if you want.

This is all taken from the Packet 3. There is nothing about an NOA1 and nobody who has been approved previously has taken it to the interview. You can take additional evidence such as photographs or letters, but from what others have experienced (I have yet to have my interview), it's not necessary. I will be taking mine with me.

Like Nich said, please check your facts, guys. That's what the website is for.

Honestly who would want to be Pushbark?

Yeah and I agree with Magpie would add to it make sure you copy the entire packet of information twice. One copy leave at home safe and the 2nd set so they will return your original documents at the interview.

anyone else ever take the plane from o'hare to manchester??? just curious :)

We've settled on American flight 54 for Chicago to Manchester. Departs here at 5:40pm, lands there about 7:20am. For the other direction we like American 55 (10:35am departure, 12:55pm arrival). Sometimes the fares are cheaper on other flights, but we're looking to be making the Chicago <-> Manchester trek at least once a year... It's all about the miles and occasionally getting a free flight.

What you need for the interview: authentic, self-explanatory, up-to date information:

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

That's all guys, just read verbatim from the info on the US embassy in London's webpage. Whatever applies to you, you take, whatever does not, you don't need to worry about.

No mention of: NOA1, NOA2, I-129F

I-134: Read the directions on the I-134 Instructions document- Does NOT need to be notarized if using the most up-to-date form available through a link on the same webpage with K-1 application instructions. Also, as far as documents including in support of the I-134: Include evidence that WILL ACTUALLY HELP & IS SUBSTANTIAL. example: If you made less $$$ during the year 2006 as compared to 2008, it will be of no benefit to include the 2006 W-2 or tax return with the 2008 tax info.

The rest of the information is self-explanatory on the web-link I have put up above. (Thank God they finally put up a whole section WITH all required forms on their website!)

Also...in case someone missed the point:

-The K-1 applicant DOES NOT NEED the petitioner's B.C or passport for the interview

-If you have a co-sponsor: DO NOT copy entire passport with all the pages...the point is to show evidence that the co-sponsor is a USC, so either: ONLY the bio page of the passport, OR a copy of the co-sponsor's B.C, OR his/her copy of naturalization certificate is all that you need to make your point.

A lot of this information is constantly repeated in this thread and elsewhere on the forums as well. Just do a quick search and you will find all of your answers. Better yet, the Embassy has everything in a special section on their web page for us finally! Yeah! :star:

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Sorry to disappoint you but they won't want to see anything related to your wedding plans regardless of whether or not you sent a begging letter for an early interview based on a wedding date. How do I know? Not only did I do the letter thing and got an interview before people who had sent there packet 3s weeks before me, I was then cheeky enough to send an e-mail and ask for a cancellation (which I got) as I wanted to get to the US more than 2 days before my wedding. The only thing they asked about our relationship was how we met! Weddings were not mentioned, so I'd save the weight of paper you're taking and leave all that stuff at home.
