I have been trying to look at flights, and the route im looking at is Bristol to new york, then new york to las vegas, does anyone know how much time I should leave myself at new york to have my files checked etc before i catch my connecting flight? i was looking at a gap of about 4 hours, do you think this is enough?

Just coming into the country as a U.S. citizen they like to allowe at least an hour layover 4 hours should be PLENTY of time. I think John came through NY once just on the VWP and never had an issues at all. I would think your brown envelope should have everything in order and there shouldn't be too much hassle anyway!

Hey

I am wondering in anyone can answer a question i have. I have my interview 2 weeks today and i was sorting out my paperwork. I was reading the letter my fiances company gave about his pay.

The dilemma i have is my fiance is in the airforce and gets a base pay per month, a housing allowance per month and an allowance for substance per month. We have completed the I-134 to reflect all of this into his annual income but the tax forms only show his base pay. As the housing allowance and substance allowance adds $14,770 onto his yearly annual income i am wondering if we should be putting just his base pay on the I-134 or all of what he earns (even if the added $14,770 doesnt show on his tax form)

Argh, i am so confused! Do you think i should get my fiance to complete another I-134 with just his base pay and also take the other I-134 with his base pay, housing allowance and substance allowance and explain this to the officer in charge at the Embassy?

We are above the poverty line on both pay packets, i just dont want anything to jeapordise us getting the visa.

Thanks

After having a hell of a time getting through to DOS I found out today that they sent packet 3 today. John did go ahead and book his medical so that's all set too. Slowly but surely!

Just print out a paycheck stub. It will all be alright! Dave went to the window and all they asked him for was the I134. The woman that took it was in the middle of arguing with her coworker. They didnt even ask him for pictures or any other documents, like the tax transcripts. I was freaking out for a couple of daying thinking that might put us into AP, but he got his passport delivered 4 days later.

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Thanks! I think i panic! I have got 6 months worth of pay slips, letters from his boss, W2's, Tax Transcripts for the pass 3 years so i have resigned myself to think there is nothing more i can do :)

Thanks for your reassurance though. Congrats on passing your interview!

Quick question for you, do we need our NOA1 and NOA2 for the interview?

I read somewhere on this site that the USC should send a copy of the NOA2 to the Beneficiary along with a copy of the entire I129F Petition that was submitted.

Doesn't mean that you will need it, but it was reccomended :)

Good luck !

I think that is "reccomended" because there are so many fiances that speak limited English and may barely know their future spouse. So having a copy of the entire I-129F petition is like having a study guide for interviews that are in countries where they are questioned at length. The interviewee can memorize how/where they met, his parent's names, children names, where he was born, his occupation, etc.

You're not going to need that in London. Save the postage. They're going to chat with you.

If you get sent a copy of the NOA2....DO NOT LOSE IT. You have to submit a photocopy with AOS as the thing that shows you have the right to adjust status....an approved petition for a relative/fiance. You don't need it for the interview. They know you were approved because NVC sent them your approved case file. You would think USCIS would also know you had an approved petition when you file with them for AOS. But there are so many ways to adjust status from so many visas, refugees, etc. A K1 is a tiny, tiny percentage so I suppose it makes their work faster to see each proof of the right to adjust right there in the stack of papers, rather than tracking it down.

Assuming I arrived outside the embassy at 8:30 (didn't have my watch to check) we were back out again by 11:30. That's about 3 hours, and also includes time spent getting in and getting back to the car when we were done.

Can anyone tell me, if we have put On the I-134 that Patrick has life insurance of 400,000 do we need to bring evidence that he does have this or should we be ok because he is way above the poverty line?
