Know the feeling..... I just made up 20 sections for folder 1 and two. Had my mother check them twice, having my boss check them tomorrow morning, and calling my lawyers to check them again tonight...Phew! My Mum (bless her heart) picked out two spelling errors and has been a superstar with helping me to chill out.....I hate paperwork!

The evidence bit is going a bit crazy for me, so much to print off and not so much time to do it! Also the fact we have like 5 photos total of us together (He hates photos....) I think may cause us problems??? Thank god I have Wednesday off to finish up...

One thing I am worried about is the fact I changed my hair colour and have recently lost a stone in weight and gained a lot of muscle... Hopefully it wont be a issue ^_^ I hope they understand and notice its the same person...Just thinner! It will probably make more sense since I put "Personal trainer/Nutritionist" on my future job prospects on one of the forms.

I'd like to get some input on how you categorized your folder. I've sent my packet 3 in and am waiting on the interview... or my fience is I should say lol. What kind of system did you use.. just form numbers... doc names.. i am afraid to separate the packets or I will get totally confused :-s lost n going insane.. truly...

Right this is what I have done for Folder 2 "Additional evidence" each name is a individual folder within folder 2.

Hello

Im just trying to get all my forms completed so i can send Packet 3 back to the Embassy. On DS-157, Q17 it asks you to list all the educational institutions you attend or have attended and list the mm-dd-yyyy.

My question is do you HAVE to list the day as i cant remember when i started and finished high school and other educational institutions that i have attended. Will they accept mm-yyyy?

Thanks

Hello :) I'm an old timer who posted often in this UK section and have been through the whole thing now. Relax you guys that are so nervous. Mail in those forms as soon as you know they have recorded your file arrival. You don't have to wait on a letter of instruction because you know the instructions already from your friends at VJ. Waiting on a letter is for people who are clueless what to do next. You are miles ahead of that.

What to take to London:

They really, really, really don't care for any proof of your relationship.

They have told you what to bring. It's on the checklist.

  • Passports--The UK citizen only (and any UK children going to the US)
  • Birth Certificates--The UK citizen only (and any UK children going to the US) LONG form showing parent's names.
  • Adoption Certificates--if the UK citizen was adopted
  • Military records--if the UK citizen served in the military
  • Court & Prison Records--if the UK citizen has any sort of arrest, crime, etc so you can show how it was handled, dismissed, whatever.
  • Photographs--TWO US sized passport photos
  • Evidence of Support--I 134 from USC with proofs of income like Tax return+W2 form, 3 months pay stubs, employer letter, bank statements. Just pick one or two things besides the tax return. Make sure the photocopy of the tax return has been signed by the USC.
  • Marriage Certificates--of UK citizen if ever married before
  • Divorce Certificates--of UK citizen if ever divorced
  • Notarized Statement--from the other parent giving permission if the UK citizen is taking a child out of the UK.
  • Deed Poll--to show any name changes the UK citizen may have intiated (not a change because of marriage)
  • Police certificates --from UK or any other country where intending immigrant has lived
  • (and translations of any documents if not in English)

Take a photocopy of any document you want back like your birth certificate. They will look at your originals and file the photocopy you provide. If you want your pay stubs or employer letter back for use with AOS, then provide London with a photocopy to keep in the file. If it's something you don't need back, then you don't need to have a photocopy. Just a thought, but having the actual police certificate in the US could come in handy if maybe an employer wanted to do a required background check. There wouldn't be much record of you in the US, so offering a clean police record from your native land might be a nice touch. We kept the original and gave a photocopy for the file.

Most people take extra copies of the DS forms that were mailed, just in case they say they misplaced one of those, but that rarely happens.

Gathering all those skype logs, scrapbooks, emails may do well for the Filapinas or Nigerians where relationships are scrutinized, but London figures if USCIS approved the petition, the relationship was proved with that. The Embassy is under DOS, not USCIS, and their job is mostly making sure you are not a criminal, have somebody who can support you, and that you have no prohibited diseases or mental illness (as reported by Knightsbridge).

Relax and spend your energy making sure the DS forms are spot on perfect and you have a good proof of the financials shown on the I-134.

Many thanks Nich-Nick for putting at ease one of those "nervous" types :) Excellent advice here! I guess the brain can only take so much and after a while of visa stress even the easiest of tasks seems like a mountain to climb!!

So, off to the post office I go tomorrow and post the forms back!

Many thanks to you and everyone else here in VJ for help so far! We are almost there :)

Well ive got a letter here from the us embassy telling me to bring the DS forms to the interview.

"Please download the following and bring them to your interview:

156 (x2)

157 (x2)

156K "

My lawyers agreed on this as they sent me all the documentation (Apart from the ones I completed) in the post to take to my interview. And I was told only to send the DS-230 part 1 back to the embassy with packet 3???

"Make sure the photocopy of the tax return has been signed by the USC." Oh my god he hasnt done that due to us getting it yesterday..... He scanned me a copy and mailed it over..... What am I going to have to do as my interview is tomorrow?

Thanks

I made a rough guess putting the 1st of September as a start date as usually you start school 1 or 3 days after this depending on the year. And for end dates I put mid July or june depending on the year and what I was doing and again, estimated a date.

If your letter from the Embassy (not your lawyer) says that, then that's what you should do. Previously they had been saying to send in the DS230, the ones you've marked above and the checklist prior to the interview. If they were wanting anything else from you, then they wouldn't have given you an interview so I'm sure you are just fine.

"Make sure the photocopy of the tax return has been signed by the USC." Oh my god he hasnt done that due to us getting it yesterday..... He scanned me a copy and mailed it over..... What am I going to have to do as my interview is tomorrow?

That's one of those things people have been questioned about at various stages so just a head's up thing if still preparing documents. It's not London specific. Yours is probably fine and they won't look at it that closely. You could always do your best version of his signature.

Relax, and go to you interview with a smile on your face and you will do well. It's too late to panic now, so just hope you sail through in 5 minutes and worry about any little other details later, only if you have to.

Thanks for this :) Just went on a run to chill myself out.... Yep my letter from the embassy told me to bring that :) Is it possible they changed the format of the way they are doing them?

Could I get Nick to re send the tax return with his signature and date on it or will they only accept the original? I just want to be super prepared for everything.
