Hello to all fellow UK filers! December filer here, we are about 2 months into our visa journey and at the current rate of approvals coming out of Vermont we are expecting our NOA2 at the end of April/beginning of May.

We filled in November through Vermont, and our petition was approved at the beginning for February, so it's possible you could get your NOA2 sooner than you think (then again, it's possible you won't!).

1) Today I received the vaccination records from my GP, now according to the vaccination requirements I apparently need MMR and TdaP. Is that still the case with my record below....not entirely sure about the "life" of these immunisations.

1981 - Three sets of DTP and Polio

1982 - Measles

1986 - DT booster and Polio

1994 - MR (Measles/Rubella)

1995 - Tuberculosis (BCG)

1996 - DT Booster and Polio

1999 - Meningitis A & C

I have an almost identical vaccination record, and on speaking to my doctor and telling her the requirements, she advised I needed the MMR and TDap. Apparently there was no such thing as an MMR not so long ago, which is why we both only have MR shots.

2) Is it worth applying for my Police Certificate now and getting it out of the way or should I wait for the NOA2?

It's valid for 12 months (though it will say on it it's only valid for 6), so there's not much point waiting.

3) When we get the NOA2 (fingers crossed), should we wait for Packet 3 from the Embassy to arrive or should I download the forms off the website and sent it off early, before they sent out a Packet 3?

You can certainly download the forms and have them all filled in ready to go. I've read that some sent their forms off before they received packet 3, but I worried my forms would get there before my case did and end up in some sort of administrative limbo.

4) My fiancée is due to come over from the States next month for a visit :) would now be a good time for her to collect all the evidence for the affidavit of support and bring it across with her? Or would the letter from employer/pay stubs/tax returns etc etc be too far out of date come the interview?

Last years tax return and her last few paystubs should be current enough for the embassy. If she brings them with her, it means you won't get caught out waiting for them.

for everyone that is new to this room that FINALLY got approved.....congrats to you all!!!

on page 9 of this thread i posted a TON of UPDATED info for packet 3.....

if you just got approved, you will receive your noa2 and your petition will get forwarded to the NVC (national visa center) for background checks. look through all the pages on this thread and we have all talked about how you can follow your petition.

once the nvc is done with your stuff, they will send you a letter with a case number (different from your uscis #). you can call a number on the letter and get more info on your petition...where its at.

when you know the nvc is giving your case to your embassy---i would look into getting your medical done AND register to get your police certificiate now! perfect timing :) takes about 10-18 days. Usual wait is 10 days, but there has been some instances. ***note: one of the questions on the police certificate will ask--wat country do you need this for. logically you would put the uk. you will get a call back if you put the UK. the correct answer to this is 'United states of america/usa'. we got a call... and the lady fixed it but who knows....that cud have cost us the additional 7 days of waiting

nvc will forward your case to the embassy and they will send you packet 3 (all the info you will need is on page 9 of this).

not sure how much everyone knows about these next steps

but of course, everyone who is in this room is here to help you guys :)

Average wait from the approval for the NOA2 until your interview date is approx 69 days----this can change depending on how long it takes for you to put together information and how long it takes for you to send things to london. you will get your interview date told to you about a month before it is scheduled. so if they are having you come in march 24th, they will tell you today ur interview date is in a month.

:D Well, a lot of peeps on here have already put their information together, so I'm having doubts it'll be that long! The only mine was so delayed was because I deliberately waited to send my IV-15 in order to get an interview date in March. I still have a degree to finish :crying:.

We included a cover letter with P3 forms that requested an interview after July 13 because Nick was already scheduled to come here for July 4th. As the timing was going, it looked like his interview would fall during the trip so we had to ask for a specific timeframe. They gave him July 29. July 14 would have be good...but it seems silly now how 2 extra weeks was such a disappointment then. You guys are going to forget this anxiety you're feeling when you finally get to be together. I actually forgot my USCIS log in when it came time to add the 3 new ones--AOS, EAD, and AP. How could that be, when I had logged in so many times a day for so long???

Congratulations to you. :star:
