Hi to all VJ members! :help: I hope you can help me with our concerns re Affidavit of Support requirements. What financial documents that can support the affidavit are you going to submit to the embassy? Is the 2008 W-2 good enough? I want to be sure if this is fine. My fiance just received his W-2 last weekend and he's still going to apply for his tax return since we're in the beginning of the year. It may take awhile before his IRS can be produced and we don't want to delay my interview which could have been this month had it not been for the Affidavit of Support. I really hope you can share with us whatever financial doc is okay based on your experience. :-)

Thanks and Godspeed to us all... ;-)

From my experience it should be OK.. I only submitted 2007 Tax document since my fiance doesn't have 2008 yet (I believe they can have it by April). I only even have a scanned (recent) financial documents (I-134 form, pay stubs, & bank statement), e-mailed and print it here because we didn't have enough time if we have it mailed considering we move our interview earlier than scheduled. I wasn't questioned about it, passed the interview easily, I just don't know if that was a cause that it took so long for my visa to get to me though...

Just make sure you have copies of your fiance's recent financial documents to prove he's financially able I guess ;)

Thanks for the info ha...I'll try to ask him if he can expedite his IRS. I don't know why he's hesitant about his 2007 tax returns. So it's fine if financial docs are scanned? that's cool..it'll save us time if that is so. Did your fiance just forwarded to you all his financial docs without any hesitations? :ot2:
