Hi

advice needed...

I am a USA citizen and me and my husband are filling in the G325 form last night when we came across the work history section for the last 5 years.

My husband is a builder and in the last 3 years has been developing a house that he lived in, in the Uk and selling it on.

He did this a few times- buying a home that needed remodernisation, residing in it as he improved it, then when it was finished, selling it on.

As it was his own home he did not need to pay or register for U.K tax on it.

He did this several times and made money this way.

But we have hit a road block on the G325 form as he does not have a previous employer.

Secondly before those 3 years property developing he was down on his luck and he was unemployed in the U.K. and was recieving social benefits.

He has gained some good assets since then, doesn't have any debts but also does not have a credit score

He is in the states and will work hard now, we have lined him up loads of work with my brother in law, so there is not much problem later on when we enter the second part of the imigration process proving we have a good life together.

Will the US administration really delve into his unemployment background, via national insurance ect. in the U.K. ?

Should we write nothing about his unemployment period on the forms?

Has anyone else gone through anything similar to this?

If someone could personal message me with some ideas that would be great!

thanks in advance to everyone

would thay be satisfied with that if we can prove that he has assets and can support himself?

tks

Financial considerations are dealt with after the petition is approved. Self Employed is the proper answer for the last three years and unemployed or "none" for the period prior.

You will be sponsoring your husband with an affidavit of support. If you don't qualify to do so, you may use a co-sponsor for K3 or joint sponsor for CR1. I strongly recommend you take the CR1 route by skipping filing the I-129F for spouse.

Note: You each complete your own four-page G325a.
