Interesting article on marriage fraud

Living in China for 4 years, I was approached by many people with immigration intent, and a variety of angles.

Living on a western salary in asia can be a sweet deal, especially if you are getting hardship salary for the trouble of living there...

The biggest flaw with western logic is that many assume that since they would never get into a marriage for the sole reason of immigration, that others also have the same mentality. Anyone who gets into a marriage with someone from abroad and doesn't at least ponder if the marriage is a scam is foolish.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

There is actually a very significat amount of marriage fraud taking place - Much more than I would have expected.

His recommendations towards the end of the article are interesting.

Hello, I Love You, Won't You Tell Me Your Name: Inside the Green Card Marriage Phenomenon

Before I get to the second page it is so full of errors I can hardly believe this guy has any background in this. An I-864 for a Fiancee visa? It is not enforceable? The I-134 is not enforceable, doesn't need to be, it is for a NON-immigrant visa. The I-864 for the AOS is most certainly enforceable.

I don't know, it is easy to take facts and present them in any manner to prove a point (I once proved hospitals cause death by demonstrating cities with hospitals have consistently higher death rates than cities that do not have hospitals, wht other conclusion can you come to?)

I'll read some more, but when he says that "most marriages" are legitimate and in the next breath says that we are all waiting so long because of the sham marriages clogging the system, makes no sense. And, what the heck, I could get scammed by the bleach blonde at the local bar but then I'd have to marry an American woman, are we sure the American women's movement isn't behind this to cut out the foriegn competition? :)

The selection of middle aged American women is huge, astronomical is a better word. But not sure about a conspiracy theory here, just couldn't find one that fits.

Associates tell me the Chinese are really screwing up, but I don't care anymore, debt free, money in the bank, and just my wife an me. She is a darn good wife and has a very nice looking butt. What else good a guy ask for.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Hello, I Love You, Won’t You Tell Me Your Name: Inside the Green Card Marriage Phenomenon

Yes, interesting. I do not care for his proposals though. I would not support any law that restricts a marraige to a foreigner more than a marriage to an American. For example, he suggests eliminating co sponors. Why? If I want to marry an American and live in my parents basement, I can, why not with a foreign wife? Eliminate K-1 visas. No. Only if they make it illegal to live with an American girl before marriage. I think the fiancee visa is an excellent way to avoid exaclty the problems he points out. Maybe if you have 90 days living with someone, you can find something out.

I think the government needs to protect the COUNTRY from people who would do the COUNTRY harm. As far as for myself, it is none of their DAMN business. As an American, I DEMAND to be free to be taken advantage of by beautiful foreign women as I pretend I am James Bond or Indiana Jones if I so choose. I do not need the government protecting me or my money, and if I wish to spend it all on wine, women and song ...and the rest foolishly, then it is no ones damn business. (well, except my wife's now :))

That said, my wife is wonderful, I m has happy as can be and she falls into none of the categories mentioned, not that it matters.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!

We should have gone into construction. It is the only field that cannot be exported.

I suspect BY only respects "honest" work that doesn't involve "namby pamby" theoretical jibber-jabber.

You and I both lose apparently, and doubly so as we don't live in Australia (AKA the Garden of Eden before Adam and Eve - as dirty and dishonest a pair of illegal immigrants as can be imagined - stole some apples and cooked one of God's favourite swans).

A nice pair of tits.

36-24-36 are nice numbers, 90-60-90 sounds kind of big if you do not think metric, but I can live with 35-24-36, that inch shy translates to an effective radius of only about 5/32nd's of an inch. Ha, rather have that then thing dropping to the floor.

Thinking about construction, a couple of engineers and myself took a year off to build our own homes, materials are still not that bad today, and beats paying back the bank three times as much as what you get. Had that place paid off within three years. Again, it's the economy, don't want to build a house and let it sit, but wife and I are talking about it. Have a generator and lots of power tools, do job out the basement concrete, not enough Chinese illegals around to hand dig it, but can always find some Mexicans to help me frame it.

No, the difference is that I don't shot people down based on prejudiced views of them or because of stuff they posted years ago. Neither do I form opinions based on posts that were misinterpreted as well as deliberately taken out context.

But anyways. Luckily certain people's con artist spouses are not on VJ or know anything about Australia. Otherwise they would be marrying me for a visa. After all, why would a con settle for a Chevy Aveo when you can drive a Mercedes.

I can certainly see why this poster seems to have so many "friends" on VJ. Jeeesch
