Talking and thinking like your spouse/fiance...

As I am sitting here working, it just became apparent to me that I have begun to think and talk like my foreign SO. I was wondering has anyone else noticed this about themselves? I even phrase sentences differently. I start asking questions in the same format as he does when I talk to other people, friends, and family. I guess that is what happens when you have been in constant communication with someone for a year and a half. I don't know, I thought I would have to at least live with someone in order to pick up their habits, be it either good or bad. Granted, it took a long time for me to stop nodding my head the way they do in India (if you have ever been to India, you know how they nod their heads differently for yes. It took me about a month of training them to know that shaking their heads really meant yes they understand, not no, could you explain further ) Anyways, just wondering your thoughts.

i write and talk 'dima' all the time. my bff loves it. she always asks me to read his emails to her in his accent.

I have 2 Bulgarian room mates, and my SO is Bulgarian. The head nodding is the same as in India. Although "yes" looks even more like "no" there! Needless to say I now have some non traditional vocabulary..lol Phrases like "if you want" and "from time to time". Still got the good old southern accent.. YEEEE HAAAAA.

Strangely, my Texan husband of 7 years has started to sound like me! I still sound as British as I did the day I stepped off the plane according to my British folks back home. Not sure why that would be, I work with Texans as well. People now ask both of us where we are from and not just me!
