Down-on-their-luck Wall Street types should trade their pinstripes for swimsuits and become city lifeguards this summer, officials said yesterday as they launched a massive recruiting effort.

It's too early to tell how many victims of the economic meltdown have enlisted, Parks officials said, but they anticipate more nontraditional applicants in addition to the legions of teenagers who typically apply.

City lifeguards earn at least $13.57 an hour to start for a 48-hour week, and have a guaranteed job for the summer.

What about picking up recyclables and garbage off NY streets?

Landed permanent resident approved – August 23rd, 2010

Second funny looking card arrives – August 31st, 2010

This is America, we don't clean up.

Actually that is a good idea. Hire a good 1,000,000 people to clean up the country. Sure as hell needs it.
