Hi everyone

I am new to this forum and new to the situation.

I submitted I-751 in Dec. 23rd 2008. Vermont service center.

Jan. 6th 2009 the check was cashed.

I received bio. app. letter in Jan.15th and had my bio done on Jan. 30th.

Online status show my file was touched on Jan.31st which was a Saturday.

My question is when would I receive my GC one year extension?

I read many people here seems receive NOA1 even before they receive Bio. App. letter.

I am nervous because I need that extension to hold my job.

I am kind of confused with what is NOA1 now, is my Bio. App. letter already is a NOA1 (one year extension)?

Thank you for any feedback

What?

So many people didn't receive their One year extension either?

That is too bad, I didn't mention it to the person who opperate my Bio.

Do you what I can we do, if our extension is not coming?

Or when should we make an infopass?

When push comes to shove, an Infopass appointment is not a bad idea

YMMV

Make an infopass, tell them that your job needs proof that you're still legal. They need to stamp your passport with the I-551 stamp, that stamp works just as good as the extension letter.

Thank you everyone.

I feel so much better with knowing what I can do.

I made an infopass this Friday, hopefully they can stamp my passport.

I heard if the case is in process for 45 days, it is recommended for an infopass.

And I correct?

This Friday is my 45th day, so hopefully they can give me a favor and give me the stamp.

So I can hand it over to the human resouce lady.

thank you very much

I would wait at least a few months after you filed for the I-751 to get the passport stamp, I know the processing time is different for everyone but as someone who is still waiting after filing in January 2008 I wouldn't get too soon.

My husband did get the one year extension letter (between his NOA and biometrics appointment) which I thought you automatically get (i am probably wrong though) when you file for the I-751 due to the processing times. We just recently got the stamp in his passport because it had passed the one year letter extension letter. If that makes sense....

hm...than I think I might really need the trip for an infopass now.

I didn't receive the 1 year extension.

Green card expire in March.

Sounds like everyone at least supposed to receive an one year extension soon after they file I-751.

thanks

Yes, that's right. You're supposed to get the extension letter, but you didn't receive it somehow, may be it was lost in the mail. So in order to show your employer that you're not out of status, you can make an infopass to get the stamp (it's the quicker way) or call the 1800 number and tell them that you didn't receive the letter and ask them mail out a new one, if you choose to wait another week or so and gamble with the risk of it being lost in the mail again. Just my 2 cents. If you want, you can do both, so you'll have both the letter and the stamp.

By the way, the staff at the biometrics support center supposed to write down the his/her initial or signature and the date that you went did the biometrics on your biometrics appointment letter and give it back to you. So don't forget to bring that to show it at the infopass, it shows that you already did the biometrics. You know, the extension letter is suppose to come before the biometrics appointment letter, that's why you're now doing that infopass.
