I got my NOA2 on December 19, 2008. It's been almost 7 weeks and I have called NVC way more that I care to count. They keep telling me that they have no record of my petition and to contact USCIS. I have contact USCIS also and they tell me to wait 45 days for a response. This does not seem normal at all. Has anyone out there had this problem before? Please let me know if something like this has happened to you before and how long did it take to resolve.

Thereare now at least 3 of us (maybe four) that were approved dec. 19th at CSc and got lost on the way to NVC. Seems like they miss placed a whole box. I have called both centers, neither will give me any information other than to say wait 90 days! I keep telling them, well the approval notice exprires before then, one rude supervisor even said "well you better hope it shows up before then". i contracted my congressman this week, I don't think it will do much good, but I had to atleast try.

Hopefully because there are a couple of us (and probablly more who are not on VJ) maybe when one is found they will find all of them, because i really think they were together, all aprroved the same day and all going the same place.

good luck!

So I go the letter back from my congressman. It is basically the response he got from the CSC, it basically said, they will pull the I129F from their warehouse and will see where it was sent and that it could take up to four weeks to get the file from their warehouse. Well atleast finding something out in four weeks is better then having to wait 90 days. Hopefully good news will come soon.

Hi cluelesspig,

You're not alone. Here's my story from Vermont:

I-130: Approved on 12/18/08... it's been 49 days and still not at NVC

I-129F: Approved on 12/18/08... @ NVC on 12/22/08... been in AP for 45 days now.

Good luck.

Transfer issues from USCIS to NVC and NVC to the embassy are a bigger problem than many may be aware of. My wife's approvals from USCIS blazed through NVC, but then got shipped to the wrong embassy, and I had to call my congressman's office in after almost 3 weeks of going back and forth with NVC and the embassy. They helped, they finally got NVC to admit their mistake, and got the process rolling again. The problem I'm facing now is a drawn out and totally avoidable wait, because the embassy to embassy forwarding was not done with DHL, it was done through diplomatic mail channels, which can take up to a month to get from point A to point B. When I asked NVC if they could just ship out a duplicate packet to the correct embassy via DHL, their response was, "we can't do that because duplicate packets are not made. There's only the original information packet we get from USCIS". Amazing, huh.

My two pieces of advice: With your approvals being in trasnfer limbo for so long, the time for waiting patiently for something to happen has passed. Get your congressman's office involved, and be relatively persistent with your inquiries for information. Also, confirm with USCIS and/or NVC that when you call to inquire, that they are automatically extending the dates of your approval. That is supposed to be their protocol, but, for your own peace of mind, make sure that is happening. Remember, those approvals have a shelf life, so getting the extension for the approvals is important to ensure than any screw-ups on their point don't cause them to expire.

Good luck

I thought I was the only one in this predicament.

I was approved Dec. 22nd at CSC.

So far it has been about 50 days and NVC has absolutely no information about my case.

I did receive a touch on Jan. 29th and again on Feb. 9th. I don't know what that means other than it is still at CSC if it is getting touched.

So far, CSC has let me file a service request. The service request is dated 30 day's from the date that I filed it which was Jan. 23rd. meaning, I should not expect any information for about 30 day's as far as them trying to locate my file. But at least I have a reference number from them so it seems somewhat official.

As I call CSC about every other day they also told me about filing a "WTC" not sure what a WTC is but I thought what can it hurt. The request is for there EDMS which is their Electronic Document Management System. I received a 10 digit reference number and was told they will look to see what Batch Number my file was placed with. Once they locate the Batch number they will have a better idea of where my file is. With this request, they took my home phone and cell phone and told me to expect a call by Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I can only hope...............

I will let you know if any of this helps.

Also, please let me know if they find yours as well.

Thanks,

Mark.

I did not know Approval Notices expired, how long after you receive it do they expire. Mine was approved April 10, 2008 and it is still not at the NVC.

Well thanks for all the input and advice everyone. I pretty much wrote everyone including my congressman, senator, USCIS and the NVC. USCIS finally came through and found my petition. It was not sent on Dec 19, 2008 as they stated on my NOA2 letter. My petition was found and forwarded on Feb 10, 2009 and the NVC received my petition on Feb 17, 2009.

I hope everything else goes smooth from here and my fiance can be here within a month and a half or sooner.

There was a good thing that came out of this... The fact that we didn't know how long before our paperwork was found forwarded to the NVC, it gave me a good reason to go back to the Philippines and visit my fiance. So, I went back for a week and had a great time at Boracay with her.

Good to hear that cluelesspig! Congrats!

I do have the same situation as yours. I got my NOA2 approval last Dec. 19, 2008 too. My fiance in California has been calling the NVC several times and they keep on telling him that they still haven't received our papers from USCIS and they will do an investigation only after 90 days. The USCIS Customer Service just said they can't track where our papers are right now. We've been getting anxious about this coz it's been more than 2 mons and going on 3 mons this March 19. I just want to know what seems to be the problem in USCIS or NVC? Why they still haven't received it? What can we do to check it out?
