We joined the YMCA in our area a couple of weeks ago. Tony likes to swim and so do my kids. I like the classes ( step and line dance) but also like the wellness room ( treadmill, bicycle and weights ). The bad thing is that I still have terrible eating habits that MUST improve! Working on that though :) .

Remember that the first three letters in diet are DIE. I have found that baby steps are working for me. I get a little stronger and a little more disciplined everyday. But I plan on eating this way for the rest of my life. (F)

Way to go!! Everyone that is working out! Isn't it sad that only 25% of Americans exercise for 20 minutes 3 times a week. It really isn't a lot and you feel so much better!

I started running last summer after a lifetime of couch potato-hood, only to crash and burn once my husband got here last October. I'm happy to say that I started running again at the beginning of May and will run my first 5k next weekend. Huzzah! I'm trying to long term plan, and am thinking about planning for a 10k next year, a half marathon in 2 years and maybe a marathon in 3, with plenty of 5ks sprinkled liberally throughout the year.

But, as with last time, I'm not loosing any weight. I use running as an excuse to eat the food I love. I haven't gained any weight, so that's a good thing.

I have had to really readjust my life and I just can't eat what everyone else does or I grow a new thigh

Hee. That is my problem area too. But you are right, weight loss and health require a lifestyle adjustment. I am trying to look at an hour on the treadmill as a choice for healthier living and smaller thighs, but until the men in the gym let me change the channel from TSN to the Food Network, it will always feel like a punishment.

my fiance loves me chubby.

Aren’t you the lucky girl! Mine keeps nodding towards my belly and saying “suck it in, sailor”

well, good luck to everyone! stay off the philly cheesesteak thread - that just leads to cravings.

:goofy: Ooooh bad subject. Three months before I met my husband online I had just lost 30 pounds as I had started watching what I ate and was walking 5 miles a night. I kept it off UNTIL he moved over last September. We both slowly began gaining, he because he loved our food here, and me, because I stopped walking and started eating more because he loves our food here so we both ate more. I NEED to start walking again, and although he is not into it, he would do it if I asked him to (silently reluctant but wouldn't let on), but I haven't yet as I enjoy relaxing with him at night. He is a good man and says he loves me just the way I am though I feel guilty being so much more overweight than when we first met and first got married, but he says I'm perfect! Awwwww.

And ladies, we know that its a shame that we gain weight in the face, arms, trunk, hips, thighs, butt (which I have done in all those place), but men don't. I don't really notice the weight on him, and we basically gained the same amount of weight. NOT FAIR!!! :goofy:

Arms, hips, thighs? Check his gut. That's where the weight gain action usually happens for us guys.

i got a perfect diet, i am going to start on it this week. TRY IT

drink a glass of water before eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just one glass.

Then you can eat whatever you normally eat, just dont go crazy overboard. And i hope to GOD you will loose wait. Or atleast not gain any weight.
