We recieved our approval :dance: for our I-130 but not ouir I-129F what can we do now can she come as soon as she sees the embasssy? please help Look at my timeline it has been a long time waiting on the I-129F what should we do

CONGRATS!!!! :dance: Go for the CR1 visa. Its 10 times better than the K3. You'll enter the US as a resident insted of being a nonimmigrant. K3 Visa sucks either way :D

We have the same situation: approval for I-130 :dance: , but not for I-129F. We're pursuing the I-130. I think that's your best bet! Good luck. :)

28 Feb. 2006 - NOA-1

2 Mar. 2006 - RFE for payment problem; 3 Mar. - corrected & mailed; 6 Mar. - USCIS rec'd payment

12 June 2006 - APPROVED! (NOA-2)

20 June 2006 - case number assigned

3 July 2006 - DS-3032 and AOS Fee bill generated; 6 July - emailed DS-3032 Choice of Agent

13 July 2006 - Received DS-3032 (UK)

Congratulations

I agree I-130 CR1/IR1 visa is the best, but you still have a way to go, you still have the NVC process to go through, which takes as long as you allow it to, so get those forms sent back as soon as they send them to you, then you have the Embassy part :thumbs:

We did both K3 & CR1 visa's, got both!!- I returned to England for my CR1 interview after first arriving on a K3 visa!!

May/25th 2006- Green card arrives in the mail................YAY!!

19th June 2006 I Had to go to the Social Security Office to get my number, the DS-230 didnt work for me!!

26-June-2006- Social Security# arrived in the mail....YAY!!

Feb 2008 lift conditions <<<reminder to self!!<<<< went to England for a visit instead, no rush right, 90 days is a long time,LOL

Removing Conditions Begins

Congratulations! Our I-130 is also approved. We are thinking about pursuing CR-1 only and giving up I-129F. As you know, I-129F is affected by IMBRA and it will take more time to get it approved. So I won't waste my time on I-129F anymore, though I spent $170.00 on it. I was hoping that I-129 would approve much sooner than I-130. But now I have clear cut directions.

Please get ready for NVC process. Read the time savers on VJ, start gathering forms, tax transcripts, etc.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Just to be clear about this... the I-129f was an application for a K3 nonimmigrant visa. This is not a requirement for her to emigrate here and the K3 is an optional path that you can take that was intended to try to unite your family faster (though it doesn't really seem to work too well anymore). It is only related to your IR1/CR1 in that you have to have filed an IR1/CR1 before you can apply for a K3 - from there, they are separate (unless they both get to the embassy at the same time, then apparently the embassy drops the K3 in favor of the IR1/CR1). The K3 is only a visa to let your wife temporarily come here wait with you while your IR1/CR1 (immigrant visa) is being processed.

As many people before me have advised, you might very well be better off letting your K3 fly into the ether and focus your energy and efforts on your IR1/CR1. Though as long as you've invested in the K3, you may as well not manually cancel it just yet. We stopped pursuit of CR-1 to pursue K3/AOS. For us, both required the same document, we could only have one valid copy, and the K3 was moving faster.
