a big congrats to you Taj's :thumbs:

just get the I-864 package ready and have your husband start getting the police certificate ready. it could take up to 2-3 weeks to get those papers. and have him sign the DS-3032 choice of agent to send over to you. other than that, you just need to wait for the I-864 bill to generate so you can pay it and submit the I-864. sorry if this confuses you, check out the shortcut found in the Wiki section

Keep calling this number: 603-334-0700. There's an option to check your case status by entering your USCIS case number (Press 1, 1, 1, enter your USCIS number). If your NVC case number has been assigned, the AVR will give you the number.

As for the PPC in the Philippines, your husband needs NBI clearance as well as local PCCs.

my husband has his police clearance from pakistan but the problem was he only has one copy and he had to go thru hell with that getting it from peshawer, pakistan when he visited last january. i was reading the NVC guide by ling che and it said i will have to submit original copies of the police clearances. i just wanna ask if he will be asked at the interview at the embassy an ORIGINAL COPY of the police clearances (im thinking yes right? like 99.9%?) but we will try to get another certified copy from the embassy of pakistan in the philippines too if we need two orginal/certified copies....

Yes, you need to submit certified or original copies of all your documents (PCCs, birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc) to NVC as well as to US Embassy during the interview.

FYI, local police clearances in the Philippines have 1-month validity. Get originals for the NVC, then request another copies right before the interview.

I lost my marriage certificates, my social security card, NOA1, NOA2, and the tax transcripts I have ordered couple of months ago.

Must have thrown it out in one of my cleaning frenzies. I wanna rip my hair out now.

I have turned my house upside down looking all night and all morning...

How are the rest of you doing?

I am laughing maniacally because I am about to exlode right now :lol

Are you serious? No way!! Maybe they're just lying around your house somewhere? Keep looking.

fYI, you can call IRS to request for the transcripts. They will fax it to you right away.

yeah, tax transcripts is the least of my worries. I am scared about my social security card floating around somewhere...

I don't wanna call SS office to let them know I lost it, because I don't want to jeopardize our visa process and tax filing if they need to change my ss#.

At the same time, I am freaked out what can show up in my credit history if someone has gotten ahold of my documents.

Oh Lord, just as things start going smoothly for me, I go and do something stupid like this...

I looked everywhere all night last night and all day today...

:star::dance::star: BIG CONGRATULATIONS TAJ :star::dance::star:

We just came back from a second honeymoon (L) and I've missed so much info about what's been happening in the past 2 weeks. Well, now, when you got your NOA2, I've got some hope about us!

We are still not able to check our NOA1 number online

Anyway, out of 65 ppl with NOA1 and filed in Feb, there are 11 ppl still waiting for NOA2... (according to my stats on the spreadsheets) I guess we don't go with the lucky Feb filers :(:crying:

Best wishes and good luck to all

Oh Lord, just as things start going smoothly for me, I go and do something stupid like this...

I looked everywhere all night last night and all day today...

When my wallet was stolen with everything in it including my SS card (yeah, they say don't carry it but then everyone wants it including the BMV!!) I just had to request a new card at the local SS branch. I think I used a birth certificate and passport to verify that I'm me - basically, it was pretty easy. I didn't get a different SS number, so I don't think they'll give you a new one either, especially since you lost your things, they weren't stolen. I can't imagine the government likes to do that very much.

As for checking my credit report, I still do that every month, and it's something I'd recommend to anyone. I haven't had any fraud, but I have had a couple of closed credit cards not show up as closed on the reports until I filed a form to modify my credit report.

To be honest, I'd be more worried about the NOA1 and NOA2 (well, if I HAD a NOA2 I'd be worried about it).

Hope this helps you not worry so much about SOME of it anyways.

Samantha

P.S. As soon as you get it all replaced, the originals will show up. That's what happened with my engagement ring.

I got my SS card replaced too few years ago. I misplaced and can't find it at the house. They issued a new card with the same number. That number is yours forever.

As for the NOA1 and NOA2, you can call USCIS to get them reprinted?
