Thanks Chrissy and lixer! :star:

Chrissy, have you inquired about your AOS package yet to find if it has been accepted? I have a feeling that it has. Once you returned the RFE package in the next week or so, you'll be done too. BTW, any news on the expedite request in Nepal Consulate?

lixer, goodluck on your AOS package. Lets hope for no RFEs for you.

Congrats carlish!!!

Well it looks like there won't be an approval for me any time soon. I just spoke with the NVC and have an RFE on the Canadian police certificate. I have absolutely no idea why as I am 100% positive that we got the correct one, so I am without a clue on this one. I guess we'll have to wait for the documents. The thing that really pisses me off is that my husband is on his way here right now, we'll be in California until next Wednesday and he won't be going home until the 11th, so if we do indeed have to get something else, he won't be able to get it until mid month. Crazy. Oh well. Holliday, do you know if your Canadian certificate was accepted yet?

Sombercat: welcome to the club of police certificate RFE's! I am sorry to hear that you have an RFE, too. We did not know what was wrong with ours either... the representative told us to wait for the e-mail. But, the e-mail just has the exact same instructions as the website... it does not go into details about why yours was incorrect, so it is kind of pointless.

I just sent the exact e-mail to my husband and told him to take it to the "procura della repubblica" (courthouse) and just give them the paper. He said they did give him a different certificate this time... so I don't know. I am still waiting to receive it in the mail.

How long will you have to wait once your husband requests the certificate? In other words, in Canada do they issue it on the same day or do you have to wait?

Will any of us get the "CASE COMPLETE" without first hearing the dreaded RFE message??? :bonk:

Yeah, looks like you and I should start a police certificate club. I've gone back through the requirements 10 times in the last half hour and I just don't get it. The police certificate we sent in fits all of the requirements and it's the same as many other Canadians have sent in. Oh well, I guess we'll figure it out eventually.

He won't be able to get a new one until he gets back home on the 11th. They issued the one we sent in on the same day. He just needed to fill out a form, pay $30 and wait while they ran it. So at least there won't be much wait to actually get it, but the wait for him to get back home will be long enough... assuming we figure out what's wrong with the one we already sent in. I'm just stumped. I should quit whining and just be happy we'll be spending the next 11 days together. Most people in here aren't that lucky.

Sombercat: after you get the e-mail from NVC (which, again, really is not helpful at all)... you should probably call and speak to a representative. They might be able to tell you what the exact problem was. We would have done that... but my husband was able to take a half-day off of work to go into town and request a new one right away.

I think you are probably going to have to wait until you get the e-mail because unfortunately... the reps will probably tell you to wait until you get the instructions and then call them if you are still confused.

It sucks, but it should only be a couple of days.

Either way, enjoy the time you have with your husband! In the grand scheme of things, a one or two week delay won't really matter. :star:

So sorry to hear about your RFE, Sombercat. Keep calling NVC till you get more clarification about what's wrong with the PCC. Some reps are really nice and will offer more info than others.

I, too, was worried at first which PCCs to submit. Some people in the Philippines forum said I only needed to submit the National Bureau of Investigation clearance and not the local PCCs. But I followed my instinct and submitted them as well. Plus it was very specific that US Embassy Manila like to see the "NO CRIMINAL RECORD or NO DEROGATORY RECORD" written on all the PCCs and that the certificates were requested for the purpose of Immigration/Travel.

Anyway, hope you and Chrissy resolve this RFE soon.

I just got off the phone with NVC and NVC rep told me that My wife has to mail in a Hard copy of DS-3032.

I know several of us had their DS-3032 accepted via the email.

Should I send in a hard copy just to be on the safe side?
