well.......it has only been 5 days since they received it. I've noticed that they usually cash the check 2-5 days right before they send out the noa1......taj got her check cashed 1 day AFTER her noa1......so anything can happen really at this point....for the both of us.

Vernice and EtherealVocalist....how goes the wait on your side? You guys should have received your noa1's by now, it's been near 2 weeks for the both of you? Please let us know....it gives those of us who are right behind you some hope.

They JUST cashed our money orcders on the 20th of February. So I think soon, we'll start getting NOAs What I find peculiar is that I sent my package certified mail with return receipt. The tracking number shows that it was delivered and obviously it has been since they cashed our money orders, but to this day, I have not received my return receipt from the post office yet... Good Ole post office huh? lol

Yikes! Bad post office! . Didn't you get a tracking number? That's what I got.....I didn't even request return receipt I just requested the tracking number, and the lady said that is automatic for all shipments, so I didn't have to pay extra to know whether my packet was received or not. If you got a receipt from the post office, if it has a number that starts off with EH and ends with US...for example, EHxxxxxxxxUS, then that most likely is your tracking number.

I did get a tracking number from my certified mailing receipt, but I also had a return receipt to be sent to me which I have not received to this day. The tracking number stated that it was delivered on Feb 11th at 3:05pm. I am all set, but its strange that I have not received the return receipt yet.

this is what I am talking about - you put on there the label of the tracking number from the certified mailing onto this card - its moslt only for your records, but since I paid for it, it would have been nice to get it...

I got so excited when I received NOA1 the same week I sent I-130,and now it's been longer than a week since last touch. Ordinarily I wouldn't worry cause I know it takes some time, but there are pple here who have same dates as mine,we both got touched on 2/13 and they got another touch on 2/17, and mine is unchanged since 2/13

I am going to try keep my mind off of it by working on the tax return, I have not even started and it's pretty much end of February. I hope I can get it done in time and won't have to file for an extension ...

Anyone here filed their taxes yet? I understand I have to obtain that number for my husband who doesn't live here, kinda like SS#.

How long does it take to get one?

I felt so lucky the first week, but now I don't feel so lucky anymore...

I still have not received the NOA1. I'm hoping it comes in the mail today. I know we have to wait and be patient but I don't think I can relax until I'm able to check the status of my case online!!

hi everyone, hang in there, i was so worried too before but when i saw that they cashed my check then i sorta felt relieved and when i saw their two touches i was so happy too. but no news as of last week...last touch was feb 18, 2009...well life must go oon and we must all continue to wait patiently.

and in the meantine im fixing up the documents needed for the taxt returns. i have my W2 form and i am asking my husband to sign his w7 and get me a notarized copy of his passport...i think that is all the requirements needed so he can get a ITIN.

looks like VSC is fastening up the pace...i hope the same goes for all of us here...

I am gathering as much as I can in preparation for NVC. I've also prepared my w-7s for my wife and kids. I had got all pertaining docs notarized and I have power of attorney to sign my wife's w-7. Hopefully the IRS will accept it!

I'll be taking my tax stuff to the IRS tomorrow at lunch time, we'll see how it goes!

In my case it took them about 6 days to cash the check, so definitely give it a few more days.

EKLONDON...just wanna double check the requirements for filing the taxes...

1. w7 completed form with signature

2. notarized copy of passport

3. certified true copy of passport (not sure about this one)

also my son is 17 months old... but i did not claim him on my taxes...just my husband...

Hello everyone!! I sent my package certified with return receipt on February 19th. I saw today that it actually arrived to USCIS. How long is the wait for them to cash your check usually?? Anyone know?? I am just happy to finally have the ball rolling. I cannot wait until the day when no one can ever keep us apart again!!
