Boo!! I'm sorry about the RFEs, guys! That sucks! :(

As far as I know, I only had a false RFE. My husband called today and they confirmed that all they are waiting for is the entire DS-230 package, and he was told that there were no other problems.. They didn't specifically say that the AOS stuff was all clear, but I'm assuming/hoping that's the case. The DS-230 stuff will be delivered tomorrow morning. I'm reaaaaaally hoping I didn't mess it up at all.

There's the good news we've been waiting to hear all day. :star:

Goodluck on your DS-230. Hopefully, your case will be completed by early next week.

Carlish and Chrissy,

So sorry to hear about your RFEs, I wish you best luck and hope it will be resolved quickly!

Thanks for the support. If only NVC will email the RFE letter already, I can fix the mistake right away.

Sorry the RFEs were real ones Carlish and Chrissy. That totally sucks. It made me run and check the copies I made of the I-864 package too to make sure that my amounts matched the transcripts. It seems like RFEs are abounding so I'm nervous. I called six times today to make sure everything was still okay so far. Well, all I can say is hang in there I guess and get them taken care of as fast as possible. Carlish, it would be easier to take care of it as fast as possible if they'd send the darn info already wouldn't it? Duh. I wonder why the email is taking so long. Weird.

I feel for those people that are going thru the tough times with RFEs. When NVC emails, it suppose it goes thru tons of firewalls, security systems, filters, queue system, etc... so be petient with them.

I called NVC today and they said they have a new process where they need all the originals documents (DS230 related) and they will forward on to the respecting embassays.

still no e-mail from NVC... carlish, did you get anything yet??

Desidon, I sent all originals, so I am not sure about the notarized photocopies. I am sure it is fine if it says so in the instructions. Just make sure you have the correct police certificate (hahaha) and then you won't be waiting for an RFE e-mail from the NVC like we are.

it has to be 2 x 2, just bring it to CVS and they'll photoshop to resize for you. i think you're talking about certified copies not notarized. notarized is when someone witness you signing a document and verifying that its a legal document. certified copy is a copy that is guarantee to be like its original and has to have the government seal. i sent in certified copies of the marriage and birth certificate, there seems to be no problems

I think Kevin's right that you mean to say "certified" and not "notarized". I also sent in a certified copy of my marriage license, but I sent in the original of my husband's BC. Also, Kevin gives good advice about the picture. They'll photoshop it for you in no time. My husband's pictures that we sent in originally with the I-130 were the wrong size. He had them taken in Canada and it appears theirs are larger. I didn't realize it until I was putting the package together and I decided to send them the way they were. They never said a word, but I'm guessing you wouldn't get that lucky with the NVC. We had his pics for the NVC taken down here to make sure they were the right size.

Chrissy - is your husband getting his police certificate today?

Hi Chrissy. No sign of the email yet... hopefully, we will get it today? I decided to call NVC again last night and spoke to this very nice guy (I think the night shift people are so much nicer than the day shift). He was very helpful and told me exactly what was in the email that I will about to receive "soon". I just need to resubmit and update the whole I-864 to include 2008 in question 25. There's no need to resubmit the transcript as I already gave them copies of 1040, W-2, and 1099 for the 2008 return. But since I have the 2008 transcript from IRS, he said, it's okay to submit it as well if I want to. It's a much better proof that I really did file my return this year.

BTW, what's wrong with the PCC that you submitted? Are there different kinds of police certificates in Italy? I submitted a total of 6 police certificates of my husband's. One is the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance (like FBI) and 5 local ones from each city he ever lived in since the age of 16.

Desidon, I also submitted original documents and two 2x2 passport-sized photos.

Well, he has to send the police certificate to me anyway since it will need to be translated into English. But, thanks for the suggestion.

Carlish, I have no idea what the problem was. Apparently, it wasn't the right certificate. I told him to ask for the one that was in the instructions (in the reciprocity by country section on the immigrantvisas.state.gov site), but he must have gotten the wrong one. He has lived in the same place since he was 16, so he only needed one.

We have to figure out exactly what the problem was, which I assume they will tell us in the e-mail that we still haven't received. I (L) the NVC.

He is planning on taking a half day off of work tomorrow so that he can go into town and get it... then he will probably mail it to me on Thursday. It is really going to be a major delay, but I guess it could be worse.

It's really frustrating that we are at the mercy of NVC. We are loosing time waiting for that darn email. Why can't they send it already? I have my revised I-864 printed out, and it's been ready to go since last night.

In the meanwhile, I hope our DS-230 gets no RFEs. That would definitely delay our case even more as my husband would have to sign and resend it back to me. I'm really hoping to get our case completed before I leave to visit him in the Philippines next month.
