If your AOS fee shows PAID, go ahead and print out the cover sheet (link on the actual page that says PAID) and send it in with your AOS package.

AOS Package is that only the I 864 ??

Yep, you got it. AOS just stands for Affidavit of Support, which is the I-864. You can send the whole I-864 package in now but make sure you print off the barcode sheet on the payment page.

Okay, here's an update. According to 2 operators I spoke with this morning, I have an actual RFE. It has something to do with Part 6, Question 25. One operator said that one of the income returns I entered in Question 25 didn't match with the transcript I provided. Another operator said, I need to wait for the checklist and resubmit the I-864 form to fix the mistake.

Once I get the RFE letter, I will call again to verify what I really need to do. I called IRS and requested the 2008 transcript. They faxed me the account transcript right away. So maybe I will update my tax returns income to 2008, 2007, and 2006 instead of what I originally declared in question 25 (2007, 2006, and 2005). Maybe because I provided transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005, as well as copies of the 2008 1040, W-2, and 1099, the reviewer got confused why 2008 wasn't listed in Question 25.

Chrissy and Holliday, I'm hoping yours are false RFE. Maybe one of the packets was entered into the system earlier than the other, thus, a RFE was issued.

From what I understand you do not need the transcripts from the previous years, just the most current. As per I864 you only need to have filed previous years.

I may have somewhat of the same problem as in 2008 I did not make enough to support my family. But in 2009 I am salaried above the poverty line.

I will be submitting

2009 - Pay stubs from 11/2008 to most current and letter from employer.

2008 - (With transcript) $4500.00

2007 - Foreign income needs to be submitted to IRS (waiting for ITIN Numbers)

2006 - Foreign income needs to be submitted to IRS (waiting for ITIN Numbers)

Hopefully my 2008 tax return doesn't hinder the immigration process or produce an RFE??

Thought?

Aw, I am sorry to hear that it is a real RFE. Are you sure that they are going to e-mail you the checklist and RFE letter? Or would they send it in the mail? I know that wouldn't really make sense since everything else has been electronic... but shouldn't you have gotten the e-mail by now? Besides, nothing about NVC surprises me anymore.

I still haven't gotten a chance to call and see what is going on with our RFE... I have my lunch break in about an hour, so I will give you all an update then.

They faxed it to me right away.

Maybe one of the packets was entered into the system earlier than the other, thus, a RFE was issue.

Thought?

Al

I think you should be fine as long as you can prove that you are salaried above poverty line.

Some more bad news to add to Carlish's real RFE:

Ours is real too. :(

The representative that I spoke to was really nice and she said that it had something to do with the police certificate from Italy. So, apparently it was the wrong kind or something. She said to look for the e-mail (that hasn't arrived yet).

I guess the one bright side to this is that it only takes a day to get police certificates in Italy... but if my husband has to send it to me and then I have to send it to NVC... it will take forever, which we obviusly don't have time for. And, I would have to get it translated into English, which will take another week or so. :clock:

So, I am going to call Naples all night tonight starting at 2:30am (east coast time... which is 8:30am Italy time) until I can speak to someone. If they request our case from NVC, then my husband will probably just have to bring the police certificate to the consulate when he goes for the interview instead of wasting all of this time with mailing it back and forth.

Hooray for all of the good news today (in case you couldn't tell, that was completely sarcastic).

Hi Chrissy,

Your husband does not have to send it to you I guess.. as long as he gets the cover letter he can directly send it to NVC... with that cover letter.. and it will save the time of PCC coming to you then you sending it to NVC...

I am 100% sure about this... but if you want to check with NVC.. simply call them and ask if this is a possibility...
