Yay! My police certificate was delivered yesterday, so the DS-230 will be mailed out first thing tomorrow morning.

SomberCat - You're right! I'm totally blaming "the guy". (Heheh I actually know his name now, because it's on my certificate. I'm still calling him "the guy" though. )

Carlish - Oh, I hope it's a false RFE! Maybe they just updated with the wrong AVR message and it has nothing to do with the AOS stuff at all? Here's hoping! I'm getting a similar message, but it seems to be the standard false RFE one... "The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete..." I choose to assume that they're just waiting for the entire DS-230 package. I'm gonna call tomorrow and verify that.

Rehan - Oh man, I can't imagine how frustrating that must be! I'm so sorry that you're dealing with that! That is totally unfair! It is especially unfair that now you have to send things in to correct their error. Assuming you sent a copy of your passport and/or naturalization certificate with your I-130 petition, why on earth should you have to send it again to correct their mistake!? Why wouldn't they already have access to it? That's just... well, it's #######! Best of luck to you! I hope they resolve things quickly for you.

Thanks Holliday!!! They say that a supervisor is going to review our case but that could take 08-10 busniess days. Meantime, they said, you can send us copies of those documents which I already did. I got two NOA2s from USCIS, so may be the NOA2 that USCIS was supposed to forward it to NVC, they mailed it to me(God knows what happend). Anyway, please keep us in your prayers!! Hey girl I better get approved this week!!! I have been touched 3 times in the past week!!!!

I wanted to remain quite, but then I changed my mind and my wife also suggested that I should put this in the forum because it can happen to anyone who is waiting for approval. NVC case# was aasigned on Friday, BUT BUT BUT they have mistakenly put our case in F21(Green card) category instaed of CR1 and AVR is saying that Visas are not available and they are working on Oct 2004 cases!!!!!!! . Anyway, I spoke to an operator and she said you have to mail a copy of your approval notice along with copy of US passport and Naturlization Certificate and a Request that they should change the category. I just did that today with express mail. Also, I put an inquiry through a operator that our case should be reviewed by a supervisor because I filed it as a Citizen and Not as LPR.

Will keep you guys update. Please pray for us!!!!!! I would have not worried if case # hadnt been assigned for other two weeks, but this thing is pretty scary. They just do not give a damn!!!!! I am very worried now !! Best of luck to all of you and to all those still waiting for NOA2!!!! Rehan

Thanks for deciding to post this. I've been hanging out in VJ since last fall and I've never heard of this happening so it's good for everyone to know. It figures doesn't it - they screw something up and you have to go out of your way to fix it. I wish I could find a job like that. Definitely keep as updated and we'll keep you in our thoughts. Hopefully it doesn't take them long to realize their mistake once they receive the paperwork you're sending.

Does anyone know if i have to send the original documents with my DS-230? NVS (State) is asking for original documents.

1. PCC (Police Clearance Cerificate).

2. Beneficiary's Birth Certificate

3. Marraige Certificate

etc...

Do these documents need to be presented to NVC or during the visa interview in the consulate (Mumbai, India)?

Hi Guys,

Just an update.. as I paid my IV bill this friday and the status was Processing... but when I checked today morning the status is showing PAID.. this was quick from NVC...

But well well... its now time for me to wait.. till my wifes passport come and then the PCC.. and I believe it should not be more than another 15 days.. before I send in my DS-230 package..A Men. I am crossing my fingers...

I'm sure yours is a false RFE as you haven't submitted the DS-230 yet. I already prepared myself that mine is a real one. I'm guessing it has something to do with the tax transcript. But sattva of this forum gave me a headups that if it was indeed about the 2008 transcript, I can have it fax the same day I requested it. So I'm not that worried. But I need to find out what's the real deal is tomorrow.

wow, seems like NVC is being a witch to many of us.

I had problems with the online payment system. It showed me two invoices for IV fee after I had already paid one a day before. Then, a day later, they disappeared along with the one that I paid. Next day, the one that I paid came back with the status "PAID", but the cover letter was a blank page. A few hours later, the cover letter came on, but was all messed up and no bar code. Then, next day everything was fine. I printed the cover sheet, signed off and did not go back to that site again. haha

As far as my status is concerned, I am waiting on my 2008 IRS transcript cuz thats the only year's info i am sensding, and will mail my AOS, and IV packet together. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly and quick.

I listened to the ARV this morning and heard the message you do not want to hear: "The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete on your financial evidence. NVC mailed a checklist letter on April 24, 2009 for correction..."

The DS-230 packet got there on April 23, so I'm really hoping this would be a false RFE, and it was waiting and requesting for the DS-230 package. It just doesn't make sense as I just talked to an operator yesterday and she said everything was fine--the AOS packet was reviewed on April 17, and the review for DS-230 has started as well.

Anyway, instead of waiting for the letter in the email, I will call NVC first thing on Monday to figure this out. I really hope it's a false RFE. But if it was a real one, the only thing that I could think of that was missing on my AOS package was the 2008 tax transcript. I only submitted the 1040, W-2, and 1099, but provided transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005.

I already requested for the 2008 transcript and mailed it last Monday. Hopefully, I should be able to submit it in the next couple of weeks if NVC indeed wanted a copy of it.

Carlish and Holliday... what is up with NVC?? I called this morning on my way to work hoping to hear from the AVR that my case was under review and what do I hear instead?? The RFE message! I immediately assumed the worst, but maybe ours is a false RFE as well? I really really really hope so because I am hoping that Whidbeygirl's "guess" that we will have our case complete by the end of this week is actually true. That would be amazing. We haven't had any luck contacting the Naples consulate directly. I knew it would be difficult (because of what others have posted on VJ about calling the consulate there), but I did not anticipate that it would be nearly impossible. I guess we will stop trying for now and try to figure out with this RFE is all about.

Our message says, "the NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information to be missing or incomplete..." Since we have submitted everything, I have no idea which packet the AVR is talking about.

Carlish, the AVR said that our RFE letter was generated on the same day (April 24) as yours, so I am hoping it will be in the mail today. Either way, I am going to call on my lunch break to see what the deal is... I can't do it now because I can't be on hold for 45 mintues while I am at work.

Rehan, I am sorry to hear that NVC messed up that bad... it sucks because it was nothing that you did. We are hoping that NVC corrects the problem quickly and the rest of your process is nice and smooth.
