Hey Fellow DS-230 Wizs,

I was just filling out the DS-230 for wife to sign and mail it back to me.

I needed some guidance and clarification from all you guru's :D regarding if I filled out the appropriate responses to few of the items I listed below:

12. Your Present Occupation - I put "None" because my wife doesn't work currently and she never had a job before.

19. Your Children - I put "None" as my wife has no children from me or anyone else.

21a. I put "N/A" because my wife has no children from me or anyone else.

21b. I put "N/A" because my wife has no children from me or anyone else.

29. I put my (petitioner) address and phone number here. Is that correct?

I really appreciate the help and the support all of you are providing. Its invaluable and much appreciated!

To those of us who still haven't received your NOA2's. I prey that all of you get them soon... Have Faith!! it does wonders

I answered 19, 21a, and 21b, the same way you did. As for number 12, instead of writing "NONE," I put "UNEMPLOYED" as my husband intentionally did not renew his contract with his company so he can remain in the Philippines (his former job required him to travel around Asia for months) while his petition is being processed.

The reason for the LONG projection is because on average UK visa are taking FOREVER and a DAY! Not exactly sure why, but I am just going with the data that I have. I pray it's much faster for you.

Congrats on all the progress, everyone! And good thoughts go out to everyone still waiting!

I'm still waiting for my police certificate to be delivered to my husband. The magical "5 business days" have passed. Canada Post says that the "International shipment has arrived in the destination country. 04/22/09 5:13am". USPS says "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment. Foreign International Dispatch, April 21, 2009, 3:54 am, MONTREAL, CANADA" So I figure either it's stuck in Customs for some reason, it's lost, or it will be delivered tomorrow. I think it's premature to assume that the package has been lost, and even if it has, it's not a big deal. I have 3 other "original" copies of the Police Certificate. I don't have any more original copies of the application for it which is what shows that they ran a check on my maiden name and my married name, but I do have regular photocopies of that.

I am somewhat irritated that all of this nonsense with the Police Certificate has wasted 2 weeks for me. It's partially my fault since I should've applied for it earlier. I was just under the assumption that it would take 24 hours to get it, and 3 days in the mail. I should know better than to assume things like that. And in the grand scheme of things, two weeks is nothing at all. I guess I'm just annoyed with myself. I'm trying to maintain the perspective that 3 months ago, I never would've expected to be this far in the process. I've been incredibly lucky so far, so I definitely shouldn't be irritated by something so trivial as a two week delay. Blah. I hope nobody who's been waiting for USCIS for like... 6 months reads this thread. Heh. Because they'd totally have every right to say something like "hey suck it up, princess" to me for complaining about stupid stuff.

I listened to the ARV this morning and heard the message you do not want to hear: "The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete on your financial evidence. NVC mailed a checklist letter on April 24, 2009 for correction..."

The DS-230 packet got there on April 23, so I'm really hoping this would be a false RFE, and it was waiting and requesting for the DS-230 package. It just doesn't make sense as I just talked to an operator yesterday and she said everything was fine--the AOS packet was reviewed on April 17, and the review for DS-230 has started as well.

Anyway, instead of waiting for the letter in the email, I will call NVC first thing on Monday to figure this out. I really hope it's a false RFE. But if it was a real one, the only thing that I could think of that was missing on my AOS package was the 2008 tax transcript. I only submitted the 1040, W-2, and 1099, but provided transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005.

I already requested for the 2008 transcript and mailed it last Monday. Hopefully, I should be able to submit it in the next couple of weeks if NVC indeed wanted a copy of it.

Hmmm... with everything you submitted, you shouldn't need the 2008 transcript. That's weird. I bet you're right and it's a false RFE, although it seems odd that the message would specifically say that financial evidence was missing or incomplete if they were just waiting on the DS-230. Not to mention, an operator had already confirmed for you that the DS-230 is in the system. Strange. Probably just an AVR oddity. Make sure you give us an update on Monday and I'll do my "no RFE" chant for you (and myself) all weekend.

Even though an operator confirmed that we are in review, I called the AVR this morning just for the heck of it to see if the message saying our IV fee was ready to be paid had ever changed. I was surprised that it did. It now says we are in review. I found that funny since last night at 8:30 it still said the IV fee was ready to be paid, but whatever. I wouldn't trust the AVR as far as I could throw it. :P

I know what you're saying. It could be so much worse but it's still irritating. I have an idea - let's blame it on "the guy" for not being at work when he should have been for the police certificate.

Very strange indeed. The DS-230 was delivered on April 23, and it was scanned on April 24. So there's a possibility that the AVR wasn't updated right away when the DS-230 was scanned yesterday. And it's interesting that the RFE letter was generated yesterday too.

I will definitely keep you guys posted. It just sucks that I have to wait till Monday to find out from an operator.

Thanks for the support! :) And hope yours go smoothly than mine.

I wanted to remain quite, but then I changed my mind and my wife also suggested that I should put this in the forum because it can happen to anyone who is waiting for approval. NVC case# was aasigned on Friday, BUT BUT BUT they have mistakenly put our case in F21(Green card) category instaed of CR1 and AVR is saying that Visas are not available and they are working on Oct 2004 cases!!!!!!! :girlwerewolf2xn: . Anyway, I spoke to an operator and she said you have to mail a copy of your approval notice along with copy of US passport and Naturlization Certificate and a Request that they should change the category. I just did that today with express mail. Also, I put an inquiry through a operator that our case should be reviewed by a supervisor because I filed it as a Citizen and Not as LPR.

Will keep you guys update. Please pray for us!!!!!! I would have not worried if case # hadnt been assigned for other two weeks, but this thing is pretty scary. They just do not give a damn!!!!! I am very worried now :crying: !! Best of luck to all of you and to all those still waiting for NOA2!!!! Rehan

I went on line to check the status of my fees for AOS. At begining it said "PAID" and now it says "REJECTED". I paid with my checking account ($70.00)

Does anyone have any ideas? Has this happen to anyone? Stupid NVC systems. They make so much money and they cant even manage it. jeezz....

Does anyone know if i have to send the original documents with my DS-230? NVS (State) is asking for original documents.

1. PCC (Police Clearance Cerificate).

2. Beneficiary's Birth Certificate

3. Marraige Certificate

etc...

Do these documents need to be presented to NVC or during the visa interview in the consulate (Mumbai, India)?

Thanks for deciding to post this. I've been hanging out in VJ since last fall and I've never heard of this happening so it's good for everyone to know. It figures doesn't it - they screw something up and you have to go out of your way to fix it. I wish I could find a job like that. Definitely keep as updated and we'll keep you in our thoughts. Hopefully it doesn't take them long to realize their mistake once they receive the paperwork you're sending.
