Wow, SomberCat, that sounds like quite the ordeal with your package! I'm glad it was sorted out!

WhidbeyGirl -- I was wondering the same thing about the Account Transcript vs. the Return Transcript. After reading what SP&JM posted about them, I'm kinda glad we sent in my husband's full tax return in addition to the Account Transcript... just in case! I'm frickin paranoid. Heh.

I mailed out my Police Certificate to my husband today. I decided to go with the 3-5 business day service, instead of the 'maybe it will arrive tomorrow, but probably the next day' deal which was way too expensive.

I also received an email response to the DS-3032 email I sent out on April 9th. It basically said "we already know who the agent is. You have already paid the IV bill. Send us the package please." but obviously not in those words. Hehe.

02/13/09 -

:)

02/19/09 - I-130 mailed out

02/27/09 - NOA1

03/19/09 - NOA2

05/07/09 - NVC CASE COMPLETE!

06/23/09 - Received interview appointment letter via email! Yay!

08/19/09 -Interview! SUCCESS!! (Wanna read a ridiculously long interview review? Click the link!)

08/21/09 - Visa received!

09/11/09 - POE (Alexandria Bay, NY)

09/28/09 - Received Permanent Resident card

06/28/11 - Sent 1-751 to VSC

07/29/11 - Biometrics appointment (OKC)

01/20/12 - I-751 approved!

QUESTION???????

I'm looking ahead at the embassy info, just so we are prepared and I found that Packet 3 needs:

You will need:

Birth certificates

Divorce certificates

Military service information

DS-156 x 2

DS-156K

I-134

3 years of USCs 1040s

3 years of USCs W-2s

8 2"x2" photos of foreign spouse/fiancé

Completed medical results

I'm confused because the DS-156(K) are non-immigrant visa apps and the I-134 is outdated. Isn't this the I-864 and DS-230 that I will be sending off in the next few weeks??? Also, there was mention of ANOTHER $400 visa fee when we pick up SO's visa. PLEASE tell me that this is the SAME $400 I'll be paying here in couple of weeks so it's pre-paid.

Thanks Kevin!!!

As far as the poverty guideline...well... the way I read it "you may exclude any unmarried children under 21, IF these children have reach majority (in my state that's 18) AND you DO not claim them as dependents." I did claim my son on 2008 return but DO not intend to claim him in the future. SO since is says DO not and doesn't say DID not, I am not putting my son down as a dependent. We'll see how it all works out. He's also joining the Army so I'm certain that gives me a way out of having to claim him. I'd like to not have to claim my 17 year old since he will hopefully be leaving for Job Corps soon but I don't think I can get away with that.

Sure will update the spreadsheet. It would help me if you could update your timeline in the timeline section, not just in your signature because I go through everyone timeline links to update the sheet a couple times a day.

OK, so I have been under the impression that I need to contact NVC and let them know that we will be providing the choice of agent form via email...

Today, my husband received an email that had choice of agent form and also AOS bill attached, I guess they get the email address from out I-130 since I didn't call any NVC operators or anything...

I thought that the AOS bill comes to the petitioner, not the beneficiary? but they sent it to my husband's email... I didn't get any emails.

Anyway, do I need to call them, or can my husband just reply to this email now and let them know he is choosing me to be the agent?

Anything else we need to do or just reply to this email and include our case number in it?

I noticed that the form they sent him is not fillable form, so I guess just write in all the info about our case in the body of the email?

I don't have to wait to receive confirmation that they accepted his choice of agent form before I can pay the AOS bill, correct? I can pay it right away?

I have so many links saved about NVC process, and I know I should read them in detail, but I figured most of you have already been through this so I can take a short cut :))))

Thanks!!!

I got the standard transcripts for the 1040 series, so I'm not much help. However, I do want to say that depending on when you filed, the transcripts for 2008 may already be available. I've read several posts that say they're not available until May or June, but I got mine at the end of March. Granted I filed the first week of February so I'm sure that made a difference.

I got the account transcripts are those the same as the standard transcripts. I filed 1040 also. And I got my 2008 also, had my refund by 2/13.

Yep, that would be the ones. I'm glad you and Carlish have both said that you got your transcripts for 2008 also because I've seen numerous posts in other threads that have told people they can't get them until May or June and that's not completely correct. I'm sure if you wait until April 15th to file, it's probably true, but I had a nice chunk of change coming back so I filed fast.

Ok, Thanks everyone :). Account transcripts it is. I think I'm better off mailing in a copy of my return since I had to modify it and I don't think they'll have it processed yet (takes 8-12 weeks). It seems like nothing is straightforward in this process! I can't imagine how someone who didn't speak English as a first language could manage it...I have trouble with the Spanish (aka from Spain) paperwork and it's much easier than this.

Good luck today, all who are waiting!

Hi Vareska,

Your husband must have received 2 emails, one for DS-3032 ACL ..something and the other with AOS FEE ltr...

so please go ahead and check the header for TO: and CC: columns that if it was just sent to your husband or any other email also...

anyways.. your husband can follow the instruction in the Wiki, and use the Choice Of Agent email format and email to the NVC. And you can take care of the AOS fee part as well by putting your case # and Receipt # on following page:

https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

I hope it helps..

Your husband can either email (using his email account) or mail the choice of agent form to NVC. In the meanwhile, you can go ahead and pay the AOS fee bill.

The choice of agent form must be accepted before the IV fee bill will be generated. NVC will notify you by email that the IV fee bill is ready to be paid.
