hi mumtaz and everyone else reading this! yup that's my baby boy right there! MASHALLAH! i thank GOD for the two wonderful men he has given to me...i miss them so much! its kinda neat because when people as what my sons nationality is, i cant give them a one word answer...i usually say well he is half pakistani and half filipino but is american as well?

anyway...i have noticed many people asking questions about filing the taxes. i am asking my cousin to do mine, she's a tax lawyer and asked me to get my husband an ITIN number (do the w7 form and send a notarized copy of his passport)

what are you all doing? this is actually my first time to file my taxes...

I am in the same boat, to claim my family as dependants I have gathered, copies of notarized passport along with w7 (for each child and spouce) and my 2008 taxes.

When is the deadline to file the taxes? i will be able to get the signed w7 form and notarized passport first week of march, will that be too late?

also i just checked my status online and it says last updated 02/18/2009...another touch? i was updated yesterday and now updated again? or is it because i am checking everyday that it says i am being updated everyday?

Can't answer this one as I just mailed my I-130s yesterday and usps shows as accepted (by the post office), so my process will begin when USCIS receives it.

If the last updated column is changing for your petition that means someone is looking at your file for some sort of processing.

I think that's a "touch." Mine has been "touched" twice since the receipt date. Progress is always good.

BTW, your son is adorable. I think he looks a lot like you.

If you are afraid you are going to get an RFE, just review your petition slowly, so you can anticipate any RFEs that might come. When you review your petition after submitting it, you will know if you have made a mistake somewhere in the petition.

This is normal, it took about 12 days for me to get my NOA1. Check with your bank to see when the check is cashed..and you should get the NOA1 a couple of days after that.

Thank you for the reply, My check hasnt even been cleared and the reason why I am watching this so careflly is because last yr April 14 I filed for the K-1 visa and I didnt hear anything for almost 3 weeks so I finally called and talked to someone and he gave me my EAC# over the phone and I was able to track it by signing on to the website I never recieved a NOA1 for that petition until I got a RFE on Sept 08 2008 saying that the documents that I submitted was insufficient, so I withdrew/canceled the I129F and I went to my wife country and married her there instead. I read all of the guidelines here and got plenty of documentation and proof, so I am really anxious to get this process underway also I wanted to file the I129 asap to go along with the I130 because the instructions says that the passportlike photo has to be within 30days of filing

I think this may possibly be the start.......you guys have checks cashing to indicate status after receipt......but this is the only type of tracking I can do seeing as I used money order instead and I think once my packet was delivered that was the last type of notice of anything happening for 2-3 more weeks until I get my eac# or noa1.

i am now worried...i have to call the US embassy in manila because i have to explain my husbands situation. they might not issue CR-1 or IR-1 to foreigners. but my husband is currently residing in the philippines and we would rather have it done in the consulate in manila, philippines. if they dont allow us to apply his CR-1. IR -1 there then we would have to go thru the K-3 (bec the got married in the philippines) and i really dont wanna do that...i will call them...

wait...why do you have to call the embassy in the first place? Did you forget something in the packet...or is this about some other issue?

Hope everything turns out good..whatever is easiest for you. Still, could you explain why you think you have to call the embassy.....changing information like that can put a lot of months on wait time you know....

in the question where they asked what embassy where the interview would be i put manila, philippines

(question 22) If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a

visa abroad at the American consular post in: MANILA, PHILIPPINES

but it also said this in the bottom: NOTE: Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your relative's last residence does not guarantee acceptance for

processing by that post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.

so if they won't issure Cr-1/ir-1 to foreginers even though my husband resides there...we have to send the I 129f for the k3 and i really dont wanna do that!
