Whidbeygirl,

I don't think we'll get our this week since I just sent the response for RFE on the 11th. I am so disappointed right now. This process can really wear you down. I hope some others get good news this week!

oh my god!!! You guys won't believe this. 4 days ago I called the nvc and asked if they had received my file...they had received it 2 days earlier than when i called. I got my case number from the lady. And today I checked my email and it said I recieved my cover letter from nvc plus ds 3032 and another email with aos letter written on it. I'm so excited everything is happening so fast for us....it's hard to keep up!

I have a question though...I can download the files (cover letter and ds3032 and aos fee bill letter) just fine but I can't write in it......I can't place any text in it. I have adobe 8.1 and also adobe 8.0 on another comp and it does the same thing on both. When I open and use the petition and other pdf forms I have no problem filling and saving them. Adobe reader won't let me write in or SAVE these forms other than the original unwritten copies. So what should I do??? Should I download both forms from vj (I believe vj has them in the dl section) and then fill them.....will they still save?

I need to save them after I fill them out on my comp because I don't have a printer here in the house and will need to transfer the filled forms to my usb flash drive and get them printed elsewhere. So any ideas as to what I can do....???

I SEARECHED AND SEARCHED all over the internet and DID NOT find one single FREE way to save the DS230 I'm sorry, there is a site that charges you $30 and supposedly you can get a fill in the blank & save file. I was in Africa and no printer so we saved to flash drive, took it to the hotel we were staying in and had them print it out and we filled it in by hand.

Looking forward to your updates. Still workin' on the other guesses for you :)

You need the full version of Adobe Professional Acrobat version 8 or later to edit and save the DS-230. Fortunately, I use Acrobat at work so I didn't have problems helping my husband fill it up so he was able to print, sign, and FedEx the copy to me.

Does anyone know how I can email the ds3032? I don't know how to do this....I can't even write in it.

Also, after I pay the aos fee bill......how long am I allowed to wait before I send in my aos along with financial info and whatnot? It might take a couple of weeks to get this stuff together....should I wait to make the payment or should I make the online payment and then send the things in as I wish?

Also........what else am I supposed to send in with my aos package? I haven't even received my ds 230 yet.....or the bill for it. What should I do? Why haven't I received it yet....will it arrive after I send in my payment or package?

Any idea guys?

Go with what carlish said re: the DS-3032 email, and the AOS stuff. As for the DS-230, you won't even receive the email for the bill until your DS-3032 is accepted, so don't worry about that yet. At least that's my understanding.

I emailed my DS-3032 the other day, and I was going to send out the hard copy of it, but it would've cost $40 to express mail it from here, and I had no intention of paying that much for something I may or may not need, so I scanned the copy I filled out and emailed it to my husband for him to print out and mail in. I figure since I already emailed it, it may not matter that it wasn't hand signed. I guess we'll see.

Hi Holiday. I can see from you signature that you mailed the I-864 packet last Friday. Did you and your husband include the 2008 income tax return? I included my transcripts from 2007, 2006, and 2005, as well as a copy of 1040A, W2, 1099, etc. I guess we'll find out soon enough if NVC will accept our I-864. Goodluck to us both.

Hi carlish, yes my husband included his 2008 tax return. I still don't understand the U.S. income tax terminology fully and I'm not entirely sure what's relevant or not, so I'll explain the best I can about what we did and why we did it. My husband filed his taxes online back at the end of January/beginning of February, and he got a bit of a refund back in mid-February, and so that was all fine. He called for his 2008 IRS transcript at the end of March and he just received it last week. He had requested and received transcripts for 2005-2007 near the end of last year. When he received the 2008 transcript in the mail, it was a slightly different format than the ones he received for the previous years. The 2008 transcript had a heading of "Account Transcript", and it showed his income and deductions, along with the date he filed, and the refund he received and all that stuff, but it was all on one page and was less detailed than the transcripts from 2005-2007, which were titled "Tax Transcript". We got a bit paranoid about that, since I don't understand U.S. tax procedures (Canadian tax stuff seems so much more straightforward to me, probably just because that's what I'm used to, but oh well), and my husband doesn't really understand all of the immigration stuff, since I've just kinda been telling him what needs to be done based on my 'research' here, so yeah, long story um... long, I guess, we sent in the 2008 account transcript, along with a copy of his W-2, and 1040A, as well as the 2006 and 2007 transcripts, along with his employment letter and 6 months of paystubs... and the I-864EZ. I have a feeling that sending just the "Account Transcript" for 2008 would've been fine, because I assume they'll just be looking for proof of income, but in the end we figured sending that along with the W-2 and 1040A would be the best bet just to cover our bases. But as you said, i guess we'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best!

As an aside, I have no idea why I can't answer a straightforward question in less than 100 words. Heh. A simple "yes, we included the 2008 tax return" would probably have been a sufficient answer. Sorry for that!

I believe the email should be going through your husband's email address, as if he was appointing you as your agent for all the paper work. and in the email tyope everything thats on the paper.

Thats what my cousine did last month.

That helps. Thanks. :)

I'm scheduled to file my 2008 taxes this week. I haven't decided yet if I will e-file or snail mail it. Maybe it's better to e-file so the transcript will be available before my husband's interview.

If you have given your email addresses to the NVC operator, you can email the DS-3032 from your husband's email address. But if you are going to snail mail the DS-3032, your husband needs to sign it.

Well, looks like we're out of the run for a little while. I just got back from Guatemala and was hoping to find NOA2 but instead got the dreaded Blue RFE...."The divorce decree submitted doesn't show evidence of being civilly filed or recorded". My wife got divorced in England and we submitted her divorce decree but I don't know if there is another form that she was supposed to get. The law office handling her divorce said that this is IT. Tryin to get a hold of them now but unfortunately today is a holiday in England, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what we can do. :-(

Does anybody have experience with Divorce Decrees from England? What is it supposed to look like?

Could you tell me how much time USCIS is giving you in this RFE to collect this document and mail it to them. I am asking you because I may also get an RFE. Please reply!!!
