I was planning on including 2008. I thought that we had to. I have been hearing the opposite... that people are getting RFE's for not including 2008. So, I was planning on submitting 2008, 2007 and 2006.

Maybe it is because the applicant was submitting a 1040A? I am not sure... I know that my 2008 return is a 1040 and the 2007 and 2006 returns are 1040EZ.

You are mailing before the IRS deadline,so you should send only 2007, 2006, 2005. But again, please call NVC and ask them. OR to be on the safe side you can include all four, so if they don't need 2005, they will disregard it.

I think I'll go ahead and send transcripts of 2007, 2006, 2005, as well as photocopy of my 2008's 1040A, W2 and 1099 forms. I'll write a note explaining that I have recently filed 2008.

I'd like to include the 2008 return but technically 2007 is still my latest return as the 2008 hasn't been processed by the IRS yet by the time NVC receives my AOS packet.

Thanks for your help guys!

I decided to call NVC to clarify this issue. According to the lady I spoke with (she was very pleasant and helpful), I only need to submit 2007 as it was the last return that I filed. They are not requiring 2008 till after April 15, 2009. If you opt to send 2008, you will need transcript as well as W2, 1099. She said I'll be okay if I submit before April 15.

Have a great weekend guys!

thanks for the info, carlish!

WhidbeyGirl, I am just sending the transcripts from 2008 (and the info from 2007 and 2006). The way I am understanding everything is that you need to submit information from your last three tax returns... so if you already filed 2008, then that should be included. But, if you haven't, then you you would use 2007, 2006 and 2005. I think it will be fine... but I will be sure to let you know if we get an RFE (let's hope not!!)

I hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Easter! :star:

Actually you only HAVE to submit the last year. You only submit the 2 before if you believe they will help - mine won't so I am not sending them. I just pray they look at my employment letter and check stubs more because last years tax return I didn't even make enough to sponsor him if I had NO kids at home, and I have at least 3 and maybe have to count 4 (although he just informed me he is joining the Army so I think that's my way out of having to claim him).

Someone (I think Paris Heart) said they are working 24/7

Yes it was me, read it in the paper and internet a few days ago. Happy Easter all, maybe Easter Bunny will bring us the golden letter this weekend. Best wishes all.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Correction, CSC is working 24/7 not NVC. Seems like VSC has transfered many petitions to CSC, and even the recent filers who should of been at VSC "Like me" petitions went to CSC instead, due to VSC is mainly handling the HB1 visa the workers visas. So they have 24/7 shifts working to keep up and not winding up like VSC did back in early 2008 buried with petitions of all sorts.

I think they need another service center to even the keel of petitions. Happy Easter all and remember its the last Easter away from our love ones, I pray.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

My NOA2 hard copy arrived in the mail today, yaaaay!

Hubby has already sent me the certified passport copy and his passport photos. He is working on obtaining his police certificate next week, as well as return a signed 1040 tax form so that I can submit 2008 taxes. I already received tax transcripts for the last 3 years if I decide to use those.

I have my passport photos, and I will request a letter of employment from my employer next week. Slowly working on preparing items for NVC stage...

I was thinking of using the shortcuts I read about on this site, but I am kind of reconsidering it now.

I will make a decision before we have NVC case# assigned...

In addition to the transcripts from 2005, 2006, and 2007, I included the 1040A, W2, 1099 for 2008 explaining that I intend to file on or before April 15.

I think we're both on the right track. Include 2008 only if you filed, but if you haven't, use 2007.

OK so I am going to go off topic here (not that it's the first time that has happened here :)) and ask a question about baby names.

My husband and I cannot, simply cannot agree on a name if we should have a baby boy. We both wish to give our child a good, Muslim name, and I think that Adam is so adorable and also Muslim name. My husband insists that AdAm is Jewish name, and that the Muslim version of it is AadEm.

If anyone has knowledge, and I mean knowledge and not just insight or their opinion on the "Muslim" pronunciation of the name Adam, I would be very thankful. I know all religious books mention it, but you see the pronunciation seems to be the problem for us here. Is it A or E? He pronounces it slow and long with an E; I pronounce it short and with A, like the American version of the name...

Which way is the Muslim way? :))))))

I have already picked out all the girl names, and he will have no say in those:))))

My top choices for girls are Iman, Fatma (Fatmah), Esma (Essma) or Hana (Hannah)

Your thoughts, please?

The status on AVR today is "received DS3032 Friday, April 10"... so now we just need to wait for an approval!

I HATE the AOS package and cannot wait to send it so I can stop worrying about it. I should have it sent out this afternoon... but I am also busy cooking for Easter, so we will see.

Have a great weekend, everyone :)

Happy Easter my fellow VJers! Just remember that next Easter you will be spending with your loving spouses, in your own home, under one roof and never again be separated. Wish you a blessed day. Happy Easter!
