Well I am ready for mine as soon as possible!!!! It gets so hard checking the USCIS website a dozen times a day and looking in the mailbox hoping for good news. Does anyone know how accurate the "estimated time of approval" is on your timeline? If it's accurate then we should get approved in the next week or two. I hope!!!

For everyone that's stressing a little and wondering why the approvals seem to have dried up this week, I want to share my theory with you. I definitely do not believe they mail the approvals out every day. I think they DO approve some every day, but they just don't mail them out yet. My NOA2 was dated March 25th and I did not receive it until March 30th. That's basically five mail days (one was a Sunday). It normally only takes two days for me to receive mail from California. So I wouldn't be shocked at all to see a lot of approval notices all roll in at once for everyone.

Personally, I think that's one of the reasons it's been slow going for folks to get their case numbers from the NVC. Instead of mailing out the approved petitions each day to NVC, they probably save them for a few days and mai them together. Just my theories, but I'm sticking to them. :P

Hang in there everyone. I bet on Friday or Saturday some of your mail carriers have surprises for you. :star:

That makes sense to me. My NOA2 was approved on March 16 but didn't get the hard copy till the March 20.

I got our NVC case number, but as of today, nothing has been generated yet per the operator I spoke with few minutes ago. :( But she made me feel better but saying "it's getting closer," and try to call back in a couple of days.

Anyway, for everyone who are still waiting for their NOA2s, hang in there. Goodluck and God bless us all! :star:

BTW, to those who already have their NVC case numbers, please remember to call the NVC operator to give your email addresses.

You are totally in my prayers. All of us started this process together and I want all of us to finish it together.

Nope, no NVC case number yet. Today was the first day I called as it was only a week yesterday and I haven't seen anyone get it that fast yet. I got the standard "wait 2-4 weeks" answer. I don't think I'll call them back until Monday.

Got my NOA2 today! Ya! I would be more enthusiastic, but also discovered today I don't qualify as a sponsor because I have to count 2 of my children who won't be living with me so I'm short on income. I have no assets, no savings, no credit to get a loan and no friends or family who will co-sponsor. So NOA2 is all for not :crying:

First things first - yea for you!!! I had to figure you'd be awfully close if I already had mine.

As for the second part, not to be nosey, but why do you have to claim two children who don't live with you? You cannot be the only person out there in this situation, so surely someone must have some advice. Maybe you should start a new thread and ask.

They are both under the age of 21 and per the instructions:

"21d - Enter the number of unmarried children you have who are under age 21, even if you do not have legal custody of these children. You may exclude any unmarried children under 21, if these children have reached majority under the law of their place of domicile and you do not claim them as dependents on your income tax returns."

Yes, first congrats for the NOA2, and second there has to be something that can be done, I thought that in order to count someone in the household they had to live under the same roof i may be mistaken. I hope you found a solution, you deserve o be able to move forward, if I find something I'll let you know

So does that mean that you claim them as dependents on your taxes? If you do claim them as dependents, I can see how they would make you count them, but if you don't claim them as dependents, it seems like you wouldn't. I should probably stop talking about this because I have no knowledge whatsoever about it and I hate it when people give false information on here, but it seems like if you keep asking questions, you might get some suggestions from people who have been in the same spot. Don't give up yet! (F)
