Timeline
and I am in Vermont Center....

Looking at these anticipated dates on the spreadsheet makes me depressed, feb 2010 before he's here? :(

I haven't seen my husband since August of 2008, and I won't be able to take off work for quite some time... I'm hoping to spend our anniversary together in July....My God, such a long time without him. When did this happen, when did I decide for my life to be this way :D

Alright, I am done venting how :D

i just checked my visa journey member timeline and in the bottom is said this:

Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between July 24, 2009 and September 1, 2009*.

i dont know where they got the bais of the anticipated NAO2 from on the february filers spreadsheets?

yea, same here. but mine is on may 20-july 3. i think that is an estimate from the service center you're at based on the current filing time

i dont know where they got the bais of the anticipated NAO2 from on the february filers spreadsheets?

The February filers spreadsheet is created and maintained by me. I am a person who plans for the worst, so when things go faster I am very surprised and happy. For example recently someone got NOA2 in 44 days so I could anticipate I to receive mine also in 44 days - but then how will I feel when day 45 comes and there is no NOA2 and what of day 100, ect. I do all I can to reduce the stress in my life I DON'T want to add to it.

WARNING IF MATH COMPUTATIONS MAKE YOUR HEAD HURT DON'T READ THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH

So back to the spreadsheet what I have done was use the statitics at my disposal - those on the Immigration Timelines and then the CR1. What I did was look at the last 3 month, last 6 month, last year, and all time stats for time between NOA1 and NOA2 in each service center and then I took the LONGEST date - 145 days for CSC and 217 for for VSC. So that's how the NOA2 is computed. The NVC and Interview date is a bit more complicated. I looked at all four time stats for each country in both the beneficiary and consulate section for time between NOA2 and Interview Date. I took those two numbers and averaged them, then compared each time section and used the one with the largest average. Then I took the average and multiplied it by 0.64, the product then was the number I used to compute the NVC date, I then subracted that number from the average and that is the number I used to compute the Interview date. I don't remember exactly where I got the 0.64 from, it was something I researched and computed when I first created my own timeline back in October. Now there were a few when I computed that were just so far from the overall averages that it just didn't seem realistic to use them - so for those countries I used the overall averages for the computations. If you look at the spreadsheet and bring up Sheet 2 you will see the numbers I use. There is one column labeled dates used those are the stat sheet I used to make those computations - 3=3months, 6=6months, l=lifetime and s=overall stats. For visa in hand date I used 8 days.

I know it may be a little bit of a downer to see these anticipated dates BUT it is much better to be realistic. What is REALLY exciting - for me at least is seeing when the averages go down and my dates get sooner. When I first put together my own dates I had anticipated filing my I-130 at the end of December at that time our interview date was end of July!! I didn't get to file until the end of February, BUT in two months the averages had come down by 3 months. Each week the dates are getting better. Last week for instance they went down a whole week. And this week for me they went down 3 weeks because my anticipated NOA1 date was 3/25 because longest averages are 30 days. I wasn't worried when a week went by and I hadn't gotten the NOA1 because I didn't expect it.

This journey is stressful enough and setting unrealistic expectations will only cause more stress and emotional pain, why do that to yourself. Friday was a GREAT day for me when I got my NOA1 and when I get my NOA2 before 7/26 I will again have a FABULOUS day.

These are just my opinions, thoughts and ideas but operating this way in my life has gotten me through some absolute HORRID times (things too horrible to even mention here) in my life.

If you wish for me to change your dates to match what your timeline says I will do that. Let me know.

Heheh, I didn't read the entire math paragraph because math DOES make my head hurt and I just got off of work, so yeah. That being said, thank you so much for the time and effort that you're putting in to keep track of all of this for us. I certainly appreciate it, and I agree with your realistic approach to it. I also prefer to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I mean, yeah, I'm sick of waiting... I've been sick of waiting since before I even got married, but it is what it is. For me, I feel like I need to mentally prepare myself for a 6+ month wait for the NOA2, because whether we like it or not, it is a possibility for all of us. We have no control over it whatsoever, and as far as I'm concerned, it's better to overestimate the wait than to underestimate it.

Hi everyone,

Whidbeygirl, you are a star. I'd like to add my thanks for the effort you have put in for all of us. I completely agree with your thinking, I too like to plan for the worst but hope for the best.

Sending all the Lucky February Filers greetings from the USA. I came yesterday for a two week visit with my husband. Thank God for the Visa Waiver Programme.

For all those thinking of making the journey to the US whilst the I130 is in progress, I had no problem whatsoever, answered all questions truthfully at immigration and sailed through.

I know not everyone can do this if your country of origin isn't part of the VWP, and I pray for a speedy approval for us all, because this separation we have to endure is awful. But for anyone thinking of travelling from a VWP country - there seems to be no issues. I took a whole pile of documentation to prove I was only here for two weeks, but wasn't asked for anything. But it was comforting for me to know that I had prepared should the situation have arisen.

Take care everyone,

hi, if my calculation is correct. you should receive it tomorrow which is monday. if your check was cashed on the 26th, then it was mailed out on friday the 27th. if not, it might have delayed to monday mar 2nd. and i think you probably had the california service center because most of the files are transfered there lately. and if you lived in far east like me, it would take about 5 days to get here. i lived in boston, and mine was mailed out on the 23th, it didnt arrive at my house until the 28th. so i guess you should be receiving it monday or the end of the wk the latest. hope this helps
