Dear FFFF's,

If anyone still remember us...:whistle:

I rescheduled my interview for Aug 25th. After 40 min conversation with the Council, she finally gave me a little American flag pin with "Congratulations", stamped "Approved" on my DS-230 and that was all.:dance::dance::dancing::dancing::dancing:

"Your visa will be delivered in 2-3 business days, have a safe flight to USA and also, congratulations on your pregnancy" :):dance::dance::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Ahh, I haven't slept well the last few days. Going to rest, and promise to leave an interview review later.

Yea!! Congrats!!

All pakistani's have to bring a fresh police certificate from Paki for interview. The nvc told us the same thing. The reason is that all pakistani police certificates have a 30 to 90 day validation, and usually tend to expire by the time of interview or during their further research after the interview before the visa is printed out. The embassy and the nvc require it just in case. So you will have to bring new original police certificates...whether yours are expiring or not....it is a requirement that must be fulfilled. I understand how it must be an extra pain for the two of you though seeing as neither you nor your husband are in Pakistan at this time and it most likely will take you guys some extra time to get those in the Philippines from Pakistan....but that's nvc for ya.....in fact this entire process is a huge pain in the butt, is it not?

actually I disagree. The ceritifcate is valid for a year. NVC will tell you to bring one either way...its standard. however if you call the embassy and check with them, they accept the certificate for a year. We had ours issued in February so technically ours expired in 90 days which is in may. Our interview was scheduled in June for July 16th. And we did not get another certificate issued. They accepted the one we submitted to NVC in February and by Gods grace all is fine, the visa is issued and we are waiting for the return of the passport.

The reason they say that as a standard procedure is becuase there are certain times that the interview might be scheduled a year after submitting docs to NVC. In that case, you would need a new one. However, if your interview date is within a year. You are good to go!

*** so we need to show my husband's police clearance from pakistan. i dont understand this part because we already sent an original copy of the pakistan police clearance so why does he need to bring another one? can he bring just a copy?

Thank you Mumtaz...We are trying our best to get a fresh new copy for it...talking to every person we know in peshawar. im worried that if we dont get it in time we would have to reschedule the interview date... :crying:

just call the embassy and check with them... surely you will be fine. ISL embassy is 051-281-2700 for the immigration dept and they are accepting calls from 1230 - 330

Back up that moving truck, pile that sh!t in and let'####### the road!! Although, I have to be in Atlanta for a meeting the next day, so my husband will be living there for about 8 hours before I have to ditch him to get on an airplane and be gone for two days. my husband's interview will be sept. 25, 2009 in manila, philippines although he is pakistani. my husband has been living in the philippines for almost 6 years now. he left pakistan when he was 19 years old to enter medical school in the philippines. therefore the only police clearance he had to submit from pakistan was from peshawar where he lived for 3 years after 16 years of age. the two other police clearance are from the philippines. our NVC case is complete obviously. and when we sent our IV documents, i told my husband to send me the original police clearance from pakistan because I did not want to risk getting an RFE. but we did because they wanted the orignal birth certificate which was resolved in a week because we quickly sent the birth certificate. Now all the we have is the ATTESTED COPY OF THE POLICE CLEARANCE FROM PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN.

I called NVC several times to ask why we still need to bring a fresh new copy at the interview when we already submitted the origanl document. this police clearance was issued in february 2009. anyway i dont wanna risk my chances because im sure this is the first thing they will ask my husband. we are coordinating with his friend's family in peshawar to get another fresh copy for him and it requires some money under the table which i dont mind at all as long as it is legal and it gets to my husband in time of his interview...

and good news...I GOT A JOB...A REAL NURSING JOB....WWWOOOHHHOOOO....so financial support will definitely not be a problem....YE HEY!

p.s. how can i call the u.s. embassy in manila to inquire about this. i guess our case is a little different because my husband is pakistani but his interview is in manila because he has been residing there for 6 years now...

Hey guys, how's everyone doing? I see some awesome news, Chris and Ani, congrats on approval! Taj got a new job, yaaaaaaaay! Cat, I am jealous of the move, cannot wait for that final step for hubster and me :sigh:

Holiday, you're too quiet, what's new with you girl?

I guess I am really OCD, I am already researching the lifting on conditions and all that ####### that awaits 2 yrs down the road. I literally had to tell myself Lejla you stupid moron, quit it, relax!!!

Ok so I won't do that anymore, I will however continue to read on POE info, trying to choose POE that is the least stressful and confusing for hubster...

So I got a stupid question: does he need to go in the line at the airport that is for US citizens and permanent residents, or does he need to go somewhere else since he isn't a permanent resident yet? I think the only other line I have seen is for visitors and he sure isn't just visiting, so USC/perms line makes more sense, but still maybe I missed something...

Thanks dear V., few more days till I get back home :)

As to your question: he should line up with USCs and residents. But they say there will be someone who'll guide him and Kenan should have passport and the orange envelope in his hands once he gets off the plane, then that person will tell him where to go. And usually that's the USCs' line... Good luck on his final for graduation and best wishes to your new family :P(L)

Hi V! You're not the only one. I've researched about the AOS as well right after Carlo's visa was approved. But thank God, I've gotten over it and learned to relax a bit. I promised myself not to think about it till next year. LOL

As for the POE here in San Francisco, there's a separate lines for USC, Visitors, Permanent Residents, and New Immigrants. The immigration officers allowed me to go in line with Carlo and get processed in the New Immigrants line.

I'd love to answer you but since we're driving I know nothing about the airports. Just thought I'd pop in and say hi anyway and welcome back! BTW, when is POE going to be?
