We did it! I was approved and out of the Consulate before 9:00. SomberCat sent me a text around noon that they were forgotten about but eventually approved too. She and her husband are such awesome people! It was great hanging out with them.

I'm back home in Ottawa now and I need a nap. I'll post a review later.

yahoooo :dance::dance::dance:

Congrats to both of you, Holliday and Somber

Whidbey, so you have to go to Senegal now? Gosh... expensive, but will be so worth it  We're here with you

Betsy, any news on your case?

I hope for all of us August will be as lucky as February

Chris and Ani,

No news on our front. Hubby is staying super positive and I try but it is HARD!

Thanks so much everyone. Couldn't have done it without all of the help. I'll post a review next week when I get home from Montreal but as a snippet now, there's nothing like the consulate forgetting about you. I could have beat them with a stick. lol At least it all turned out well. Thanks again!

I'm so sorry that you guys had to wait so long! Are they allowing you back to pick up the visa tomorrow or Friday? I hope so, considering what they put you through! Also, did you find out how things went for the "A" man? He was really nice. Also, did you enjoy the Wunderbar? I hope you guys get to relax now and enjoy Montreal for the next couple of days!

Case complete as of August 19th, according to 2 nvc operators. Haven't checked the avr as of yet. Both operators told me I obviously missed the cut for a september interview so they will let me know the interview date when I call on or after september 15th, they will also be sending me and hubbs each an email about the interview date. Just realized I totally forgot to ask about the medical and when that might be.....do you guys think they'll send an email about that too.....or will they mail the letter to my husband here in Paki? Hope they don't mail anything to my address in the u.s as I'm not there right now...obviously.lol.

I'm pretty relieved that case is finally complete with nvc......just wondering on when the next few steps are and praying they'll come soon.

Any thoughts on what hubbs interview and medical dates may be? Wouldn't mind having a go at it would ya Whid?? ^_^.

Oh and also.....how can I track my package to the embassy......and how would I know when/where/which one...all of that?

Nope, not allowing us to pick up the visa. They said we could only do it if there were "special circumstances" and my old brain just couldn't think of a lie for a special circumstance fast enough darn it. Must have been all the wine the night before. lol The letter A guy had to wait forever too. He only got in about an hour before us. There were some major problems going on behind the scenes with the files for all of us interviewing with the lady in room 7, but in the end, he was approved and all is good. He medical wasn't complete yet so he won't be getting the visa in the mail anytime soon like you and I, but he knew that going in so he was cool with it.

The Wunderbar was FABULOUS! Could be my new favorite candy bar in Canada. Thanks so much for that! Actually, it really helped a lot because after waiting there for so long, I got hungry. Well, I guess I better hit the shower and head over to Old Montreal for the day.

Congrats Mumtaz!! I didn't do a very good job reading all of the updates since I'm in a little rush, so if I missed any other approvals, congrats to you too! Everyone else, I guess there's not much to say but keep hanging in there and try to keep your chins up. I know it must be just awful continuing to wait.

BTW V, we'll totally do Dallas. Holliday is a very cool chick and we'll all have a great time for sure.

Thanks for all the congrats, guys! It means a lot.

My interview review is posted here if anyone wants to read about the evil #10 window woman. It's loooonnggg.

"Special circumstances?!" Sheesh! I think waiting for 3 extra hours ought to count as special circumstances! That is lame. Well, I hope whoever was in charge of organizing the files for the interviews in #7 is not also in charge of mailing out the visas in a timely fashion, so that you'll at least get it in time to move on your intended date!

Glad to hear that the "A" man was approved too. And glad you like the Wunderbar! (I ate the one that I had originally bought for you. It was delicious.) Ooooh and good luck on your exam!

Any thoughts on what hubbs interview and medical dates may be?

Oh and also.....how can I track my package to the embassy......and how would I know when/where/which one...all of that?

Mumtaz, you can schedule your medical once you have an interview assigned. You just have to check where the medical gets done for Immigrant visas. This info is usually provided at the USEM website: USEM ISLAMABAD - MEDICAL EXAM - there is a PDF file with info of all doctors allowed to do it, as well as a price list and list of vaccines.

You track the package once you hear from NVC AVR that your package has been sent to Islamabad on xx day. Then you go do the DHL website, choose "Tracking by reference" and then track the shipping date, for example: EXP 27 AUG 2009A, and it will show you all packages sent to different countries. You'll see there Islamabad, Pakistan and you'll see what date package has been received at USEM. Once you see it has been delivered, you can call them and try to reschedule for earlier.

Good luck and congrats again on case complete
