Your review is awesome, V. I'm so glad everything went well for you!

Here's my rant. I don't know if I'm gonna make it through the next week with my head on straight. Seriously, every day feels like a month. I'm soooo sick of work. I put in my notice of resignation on Monday, so I'll be officially unemployed as of next Sunday. I figure if something goes awry at the interview I'll have no problem taking back my notice. It's just that if everything DOES go well, I plan to move just after Labour Day, and I don't think I can prepare everything with only a few days off before then, so having an extra 2 weeks off help a lot. Plus I'm just sick of my work in general. I have no motivation at all. I still do my job, but it really sucks. I know I only have 8 days of work left but it feels like a million days left. I'm such a whiny brat and I don't care. Heh. Actually, I may only have 7 days left. If I'm given the option of picking up my passport/visa the day after the interview in Montreal, I'm gonna stay an extra night and do that, and then not go into work on Thursday.

On your birthday! How cool is that?! Can't think of a better present. :)

Holliday, you and my husband are in the same boat as far as work is concerned. His mind has moved on and he's having a tough time telling people not to cram it. lol He has to keep it together though because we just got word that the company may keep him on doing the same job but putting him in our office down here (we work for the same company). Man would that be great!! No job hunting and no loss of a $78K income. Everyone cross your fingers for us.

Great review V! I'm so happy for you. :)

Betsy... oh Betsy... any word? Tell us your good news girl!

Taj congrats on your interview date!! News for you guys on my hubby's interview. He said it was really long but the lady was very nice to him. She told him everything was ok but he was in AP. I guess the only good news that came out of it is she kept his passport. I cried like a baby and I have a splitting headache right now. I just pray this is not a long drawn out process.

Taj, CONGRATS on the interview date :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

Betsy, Good luck to ur hubby, I'm pretty sure that even on AP, the fact they kept his passport means a lot of positive news  AP I assume won't be long as they have his passport and in case he needs to travel outside Egypt he'd need it. They know that. So, that could only make you happy

Somber, I'm crossing my fingers for ur hubby as well, I know what is to work for the same company (we do too) so I miss it now while waiting for my visa. Best wishes and luck to both you and him

Whidbey, any positive news yet?

Well that's a crappy bummer. :( I would think it's definitely a positive note that they kept his passport. Maybe AP won't last very long. We'll keep you in our thoughts. It seems like there's a lot of AP running around lately.

Taj - Yay for having an interview date! That's awesome!

Betsy - I'm sorry to hear about the AP. I agree with everyone else though... the fact that they kept his passport can only be a good sign. And also, it's a good thing that they didn't request any additional evidence or anything from him. I'm afraid I don't have any comforting words really, except to say hang in there, and it may not feel like it right now, but you are one step closer to having your husband there with you.

SomberCat - Man, that would be great if your husband could hang on to the same job! Hopefully his co-workers will cut him some slack in the meantime and understand that this is a very stressful time. I'm just so sick of my job because usually I do the most work there, and I totally didn't mind before because it makes my job easier in the long run. But that motivation is gone now, and nobody else is stepping up and taking over, which is really frustrating. I don't know why I care still, but I do. It's a weird feeling. And I really don't know why people still expect me to do more than my fair share of work. Yargh. They're gonna have to figure it out eventually. Why can't they do it now? Oh boy, I really need to stop venting about work.

I'm thinking once I move that I'll just go to school once I'm settled in, and perhaps take on a part-time job or do some temp work. I'm not sure how I will afford to go to school, but I plan to find a way. I figure we'll probably go into debt once I move there anyway, so why not go into LOTS of debt and get some more education. I like to look at it as an investment in the future. Heheh. (Plus, it would be cool to not work for a while.)

Betsy, I'm so sorry about the AP. It's a little consolation to know that the consulate officer took his passport. I really hope you'll get out of AP soon.

Carlo took his medical exams about two weeks before his interview. But your hubby can take his earlier if he has no plans to travel outside the Philippines. St Luke's Medical Center will take his passport and forward it to the embassy.
