DARN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RFE ISSUED on August 4th.....checklist mailed on August 6th....and today August 8th I will try and mail out the response to rfe asap.

The rfe they issued is ridiculous! Not on their side......from my side. I could have avoided it BIG TIME! But I just don't understand how it went over my head...here's the deal....I forgot to send proof of my relationship to the joint sponsor...my mom! HONESTLY NOW MUMTAZ HONESTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ranting::bonk:

So now I'm sending a colored photocopy of my Birth Certificate plus the RFE checklist.....and that'll take 3 more days to get there and only god knows how many more days till they review it or whatever else they will want to do with it. I mean how obvious was it that I should have sent some proof that the joint sponsor IS actually my mom....like their just gonna assume it's true cause I say so. JEEZ!

Anyways...whats done is done....crying...spilled milk..pointless blah blah.

I have a question for ya'll now......I'm just trying to make sure whether the address on the Checklist is correct and should I be sending my response to that address? What with all this new address business....I just want to be sure. Can't talk to an operator yet since they haven't opened yet....there's still 2 hours till the operators are on line. I'd rather not wait any longer to mail this out.....so if you guys can help me out in like....2 hours that would be GREAT... other wise I may just call nvc quickly and see if I can talk to an operator in like 5 mins.....if not I'll just mail it to the address on the checklist and deal with it.

The address on the checklist(as I understand it) is:

National Visa Center

ATTN: DR.

31 Rochester Avenue, STE 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

oh and sorry I haven't been active lately......to be honest I just had a 3 day vaca to murree....again....and then a 3 day rest to recoop from that vaca in the mountains.....plus net has been scarce at home.......we're having tech difficulties.....

I have like 5 mins till electricity goes out and I'm on slow #### paki dialup today......so I promise I'll congratulate everyone properly after like 2 hours when it comes back okay.........sorry!

Mailed my birth cert. photocopy out today. Thank god that's all taken care of and off my shoulders!

What is still bothering me is how stupid the rfe was....I mean firstly, how did I not think of sending proof of my relationship to the household member/joint sponsor? Honestly....isn't that just obvious!! Secondly.....why in heck didn't I read it anywhere..........I know for sure it wasn't written anywhere in any guides or shortcuts and even the nvc operators didn't mention a thing about it. So pathetic......wish I had asked someone in the same position...doing joint sponsorship with parents.....but honestly.......I would have if the thought had even crossed my mind! Ah well......whatever.

Anyways....congrats Kev on your wife's interview. Have you guys gotten the visa yet?

And Whidbey.....do let us know as soon as you find out what the hold up is.......maybe it is a sort of AP....it may be background checking of some sort. But I really don't think it will take much time for you guys....just seems like they want to make sure you two are legit...relationship-wise. And since there is no way they can prove otherwise.....there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Praying for you okay! Keep your hopes up!!

AP is "additional processing". You see this most often in Islamic countries from what I have seen on VJ. Cairo is notorious for putting just about everyone in AP. This can add anywhere from months to years to your petition.

Yes, and Pakistan is notorious for putting 99.9% of all male Pakistani's on AP!!!!!!!!!!! Very unfortunate for us.......but just as true.

Basically, additional processing just means background checking, usually this is done after interview....when the CO or interviewer feel it is necessary for one reason or another....and usually the reason remains a complete mystery to anyone but the embassy themselves. AP just means.....additional wait time (1-3 months...and in Muslim countries usually 6 weeks to 6 months or more)

Congrats cmls!!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. It gets better each day. It was mainly the initial rejection that was the hardest, we didn't expect that big red brick wall to be in our path and we had built up quite a bit of momentum so we hit it pretty hard. Good thing is the woman at DOS said to call back in a week. When do they ever tell you "Call in a week." ??? Never! They always say, 6 weeks, 6 months, the 2nd week of the month - etc... So we have high hopes again that it will be over soon.

hi everyone i am back! sorry to keep you all worried! anyway i was away for 5 weeks to visit my husband son in the philippines, but now i am back. the latest update is that we got an RFE (husband's original birth certificate) and mailed it about 2 weeks ago. we called and they said they have received it and under process but this was 2 weeks ago so i have to call tomorrow and see what's going on. anyway the sad news is since i have passed my boards and i am now an registered nurse i can not work as a nursing assistant at my old place anymore and i would have to reapply as a nurse. so now i am jobless! i am worried my husband's interview will be on sept or oct and im so worried about finding a job! question: when i use a co sponsor can i ask a friend to do it? and do i have give the files for a co sponsor thru NVC again? what if our case has been forwarded to the embassy already? i tried to sign in at NVC but i got this message:

Your case is approved and done at the NVC silly girl! lol That's what the sign in failing means. Congrats! If you call the NVC on Monday or Tuesday, they'll confirm that for you.

WOOOHOOOOO your case is complete girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call tomorrow and let us know the date it was complete! That way I can give you a better estimate of interview date.

Since your case is complete it means your AOS has been accepted. UNLESS THEY ASK at your husband's interview about you working DON'T TELL THEM you're not working right now.

Anyone can be your co-sponsor - they just have to be willing to share all their tax info with you and be committed to 10 years of support. My advice, get everything ready for a sponsor so if they ask you have it, but DON'T give it to them UNLESS they ask.

Welcome to the end of the journey girl!

I pray all went well with your visit with your son.
