I just got back from the consulate and we got it!!! It was super easy and we got it, we just need to pick it up at DHL... YAY!!!

Wohooo!! Congrats!!

That definitely made my day. Tell us more about it. :star:

My appointment was at 11:15 and we were there at 10, there was a long line outside but that was for like regular visas, so i told the security guy i was going for residency and he let me in another line. I went in and went through like airport security, they didn't even let you in with make up, then they took my appointment letter and gave me a number and told me to go in and wait in an outside tent, the heat was unbelievable, they called my number and i went to a window where they took my medical results and my passport and check information, like my birthday and my husbands address and phone number. Then sent me to another window for my finger prints and then off to wait, this was the harder part, it was lunch time so the people in the windows were leaving to eat, so it took them like an hour or more to call my number again and i was really worried, because a lady that went in with me was out when i was doing my fingerprints.

The interview part was really easy, all the worrying for almost nothing, because she just asked me who was petitioning and then how we met, we met online so she was a lil' dubious when i said that and asked me how our relationship went, so i told her like our timeline of visits and all, and she started smiling, asked me if i had pictures and i had two photo albums full of them i showed them to her and gave them back to me and said congratulation you've been approved and told me to go pay DHL.

So i went and pay DHL (it was 8 dollars here) and now we are just waiting for them to get my visa so we can pick it up and cross the bridge to get it stamped and go home :D

Good luck everyone!!!

We made the difficult decision last night that I am not going to interview  I pray everything goes well for him. Now I just have to figure out the whole DHL thing. I know they don't deliver to where he lives so am wondering if he can just pick up at their office in Dakar.

How about if you ask at Embassy, if he can pickup Visa same day.. because that option is there in India...

No the DHL is for me to send him the documents, emails, phone logs and pictures I have that I was planning to bring to the interview. The embassy issues visas only on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm. His interview is on Thursday at 7:30am so he might be able to pick it up on the same day, but he might have to wait until Tuesday.

I can't save the pdf since I didnt feel like dishing out the $400 for the adobe reader software...lol.....plus my mom wouldn't have a clue what to do with it if I emailed it to her. She's not really a computer person........at all.

...okay another question,

where it says sponsors promise...then my name on Part 2 question number 13 of the i864a form.....it says "I the sponsor (my name), in consideration of the household member's promise to support the following intending immigrant(s)

and to be jointly and severally liable for any obligations I incur under the affidavit of support, promise

to complete and file an affidavit of support on behalf of the following ___________(indicate number)

immigrant(s) (see Step-by-Step instructions).

What do I put for the indicate number blank space? 1???? Sorry this may be completely obvious but for some reason it went right over my head....

Question: I'm reading about how people are scheduled interviews at one date and others another date, but all have filed in the same month. Would this mean that the embassy is the leading factor here, i.e. does your interview date depend on how many people are being interviewed in the same time period? OR is this something that comes from the US/NVC (?) side?

Hello there!

The A- number is the Alien Registration number. You should write "NONE" for your husband. He will get an Alien registration number written on his visa once he gets approved.

For the CR-1/IR-1, NVC schedules interview based on the space availability of each embassy.

okay. So just faxed the filled out i864a to my mom. She'll be mailing it out today express.....meaning it should get to me from Wednesday to Friday next week.....yes thats an entire week gone. But Once I get it back it'll take 3 days to reach NVC from there. So...thats a week and 3 days till review of aos starts.

Still curious what they really meant by the indicate number blank in question 13 and 15 of i864a? I put 1....seeing as I'm only sponsoring 1 immigrant. So hopefully that doesn't screw me over. LOL

Also, I'm a bit worried about what I put for my mom's current individual annual income on question 10. Since I don't have any tax papers and the likes for this year I just put what she told me to put. Which should be correct....but I worry they may ask for proof and the only proof I provided is the 2 employment letters both stating she makes around $900.00 - $1050.00 weekly. Which adds upto significantly MORE than what she told me to put. Though this is because she is working on a per patient base....so I'm hoping the nvc doesn't end up making too big a deal out of that. *shrugs*

ah well....we'll just have to wait and see now won't we. lol

Good luck to Kenan on his upcoming medical!!!! Fingers crossed......cause if he's ANYTHING like his wifey.......then their is much to fear when they do the alkiehol n drug tests!!! ;)
