They received my I-130 last Wednesday and cashed it today, so don't worry, it'll happen soon

I did send my husband's birth certificate with our I-130.

Once they transfer our case to NVC, they won't ask for another set of documents such as birth certificates and marriage certificate, will they? I mean, everything I could possibly think of to send under the sky - I have sent it with I-130, so you don't think I will have to send another set to NVC?

I'm so grateful I found this forum. Thanks for making this thread.

Anyway, I filed the I-130 for my husband last Thursday and it was received at the Chicago lockbox on Saturday. As of today, the check hasn't been cashed in yet.

This is the address where you had to send your petition along with the check,but on the check, you should have done this as they say in instructions, which I hope you did

Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security, unless:

A. If you live in Guam and are filing your petition there, make it payable to Treasurer, Guam.

B. If you live in the U.S. Virgin Islands and are filing your petition there, make it payable to Commissioner of Finance of the Virgin Islands.

C. If you live outside the United States, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate for instructions on the method of payment.

NOTE: Please spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS."

oh no i think i just put department of homeland security!? but im not 100% sure...or maybe i did put US department of homeland security...do you think i should call and ask them? maybe they will send me an RFE?

No, I do not think it will be a problem, but I think you should wait atleast two weeks from the day they recived it and then, you could start worrying. It is too early now dear! Just relax!! They will cash it and by the way, did you send your petition using USPS express delievery??? How did you send it???

i sent it via USPS with a tracking number, i checked its tracking number and it has arrived since saturday...i sent it thrusday and it arrived 2:14 pm saturday...ill give it a couple more days...do they work in saturdays?

I sent out the I-130 on Monday 2/9. They received it on Tuesday 2/10 at 2:51PM. Now I'm just waiting for them to cash the check.
