I've read on VJ it'd be good if ppl also have pics with their families, so if you have pics of your husband with your family and vice-versa, would be good - a proof your families are aware of your marriage

No pictures like that. His family doesn't live in the same country as he does and I couldn't afford to take any of my family with me. Hmmm. I have pics with his friends - they threw me a surprise birthday party when I was there. Guess those will have to do.

Yup, pics with friends, invitations for events addressed to both of you, any receipts with your names on them, cards, should work too

And of course big congrats to Taj too!! I'm so proud of you that you passed the board exam in one try.

Just a quick update... Carlo has been here for almost 4 days now. My family and I showed him around the city last Saturday. The weather here in SF has been wonderful the past few days--perfect for sightseeing.

He tried to apply for a state ID this morning, but apparently he needs a SS number to do so. I guess, we'll wait for his SS card to arrive before we can really do anything.

My hopes to have the AOS completed by the end of the week.

My hopes to have interview scheduled for August.

My hopes to have my children (and wife of course) not miss the start of the school year. Is there a way to notify NVC / Consulate about this and would they do anything about it?

Based on our experience, the pre-screener wanted to make sure we had pictures together just in case the CO wanted to see them. You can also put together pictures with family and friends. Greeting cards from each other would also be nice.

Based on what I'm seeing with Canada, there isn't a real good chance you'll get an August interview. Sorry.

Just a quick note... Carlo and I arrived in SF last night at 9:35 PM. We were supposed to get here at 8PM, but our flight was delayed in Manila for over 2 hours.

Anyway, everything went well during the US custom clearance. Carlo's visa will serve as his temporary greencard for a year till his real greencard arrives within the next few months. His social security card should arrive in two weeks, but he can already apply for a California ID or driver license, etc, using his temporary greencard (visa).

It sucks that I have to go to work today. Yikes!

I will try to catch up and read everything I missed this weekend.

Hi everyone! You've all certainly been busy while I was in Canada. Whew! I took me almost half an hour just to catch up. It looks like there's been a myriad of things happen, so at this point, instead of listing them out, I'll just say congrats to everyone on everything from approvals to new jobs to being back in the US. Oh yeah, kevinbui86, congrats three months later! What a riot! I checked mine just for the heck of it and I still don't exist with the USCIS and never did as far as the online system is concerned. Goofballs.

Anyway, I'd like to say it's nice to be back, but since it meant leaving my husband, it's not that nice. No biggie though, he'll be down on Thursday night so I think I can live for three days without him. I'm not THAT pathetic.
