Hi all,

So here's my situation:

I supposedly had gotten a letter from USCIS (an I-797 I suppose) stating that our case was approved. So, now I had NVC contacted to find out my case number from them. And I got it...only problem is, our case was approved May 21,2009 and I still haven't gotten anything from them. The rep we spoke with told us that they need "extra info" and that I would be receiving a letter from them in a month...is this normal? I am in Syria now...is there any way the embassy would know anything, and would it be worth contacting them? Or is that a joke to even consider... also, is it worrisome that they would tell me this even before I pay any fees or send anything in? I'm freaking out....this is a joke.....I'm damn tired of this waiting....I'll be married two years in November and I still haven't been able to have a normal life with hubby yet.....#######... :crying::crying::crying:

Does this mean that all my documents are correct no RFE for these???

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents

which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required

information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview.

Please read the enclosed information to determine where to send all required copies of missing

documents. If you have any questions regarding this letter, please call the National Visa Center at (603)

334-0700 between the hours of 7:30am and midnight ET.

Please include a copy of this letter with your correspondence and write your case number clearly (exactly

as it appears below) on the upper right-hand corner of all documents.

If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by e-mail, telephone, or mail), all

submitted fees and documents will expire. Upon expiration, the fees and documents would need to

be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

Well, firstly you'll need to call the nvc once more and request your Invoice Identification Number (IIN). Once that number has been made available to you you may use that and your case number to pay the AOS fee bill and later the IV fee bill. I believe this is the stage of the process that you are on right now.

If you need more info about what to do I suggest you :guides: first.

Here is a link to one of the best guides for this procedure. Almost each and everyone of us here on this forum have used it. Please do take a look for yourself, it will clear up most any questions or concerns you may have. If after reading this guide you still have some questions, then I assure you we will all still be here to answer them. But please firstly do :guides:.

The LingChe guide is the BEST guide to follow.

Since you need a live answer:

1. Call NVC and request your Invoice Identification number.

2. Then log into the NVC website, pay your AOS bill, send off the DS3032.

3. Get your AOS packet coversheet (about 2 days after you pay)

4. Send in your AOS packet

4. Then wait for your IV Bill to show up (it will be about 10 days or so after sending in the DS3032), pay your IV Bill.

5. Get your IV packet coversheet (about 2 days after you pay)

6. Send in your IV packet

7. Wait for case complete (about 24 days after you send in the IV packet)

8. Wait for your interview assignment (only assigned the 2nd week of every month for interviews the following month)

i have downloaded the lingche guide and am reading it religiously thanks :D

here's something i just came upon however, and i'm a bit cautious of:

  • Photocopy Requirement - In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.

isn't this a bit misleading? how is one supposed to know what needs to be certified and what can just be a photocopy? kind of odd? i have gone through the guide and other ones on the site as well as the net and can't find really anything....perhaps this is also embassy specific? any advice?

hello everyone, yes i am still alive! the past couple of weeks have been stressful and really busy for me, but it all paid off because I AM NOW A REGISTERED NURSE IN THE UNITED STATES! hell yeah! i took my nursing board exam and i passed! that means i am moving up my position at work from a nursing assistant to a nurse, plus more than double in my salary!

about my visajourney, i have just sent my AOS and the 400$ fee bill just came up last thursday. i am so lazy too update my timeline. but i will do it soon..dont worry you all. as soon as i talk everything out at work about changing my position i will sent in husbands ds 230 package. i will also be visiting him in a weeks time and will stay there until aug 8th. so if i sent his ds 230 package within next week hopefully we can land an interview within august and hopefully husband can get the visa in august and follow me within 2 - 3 months.

i am very happy at this point! i did everything myself, everything going okay with my husbands petition, i did it all by myself and of course visa journey. when people kept telling me it would take years to have my family here...well...look how GOD has been good and merciful to those who have been humble and patient...i am a real nurse now and i can support my family and stop depending on relatives...what a feeling
