Hello hello!

I'm new to visajourney.com. I wish I had come across this website back when I started my visa process for my hubby.

I'm a late January/Early Feb filer.

Our case is at the NVC right now. I just sent in the IV Package yesterday!

Sad note: My MOM made me go through this immigration guy from California who apparently used to work at the New Delhi Embassy many moons ago. After weeks of waiting to get the civil docs for my husband I was ready to mail them out on last Friday without sending it to the immigration guy (he did the AOS and I-130 application). But my mom stuck ideas in my head saying what if something is incorrect blah blah blah. So with that "what if" question I was stupid enough to send all the docs to the immigration guy. He held on to the docs all weekend long and finally sent them out on Tuesday. BUT i found out later that evening that he didn't send the original marriage certificate and original birth certificate! If he worked at the Embassy for so many odd years don't you think he'd know to send original docs? I finally ended up calling him to yell and he said well it's better to send certified docs blah not original docs and he sent them in but we'll need to get certified copies. I said to him, well don't you think you should have called me and asked me if it was okay to send the originals...and actually if i sent originals obviously i'm okay with sending them out!

We were givin 2 marriage certificates which are absolutely identical so we had one for our records! Plus, birth certificate he had a copy of as well.

Anyway, our IV package was signed by A Austin today. I'm expecting a RFE for the original docs. :crying:

Welcome to the group! :)

Your whole situation with the "immigration guy" sounds awfully frustrating! But I guess, try not to worry too much about the pending RFE. They tend to not add very much time to the process at the NVC stage. I would suggest in the meantime maybe asking the immigration guy to send the documents back to you so that you can send them off to NVC if/when requested.

From what I understand you actually won't get an RFE, you'll be asked to bring original documents to the interview.

IV received

Well, just about :)

Class: Express Mail®

Status: Arrival at Unit

Your item arrived at 10:41 AM on June 12, 2009 in PORTSMOUTH, NH 03801. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

So, If I am on the same time line as the AOS I sent, they should have IV in the system by next Thursday or Friday.

Remind me again what's the average "under review" time, how long before I should have case complete? Guesstimates are ok :)

When I was tracking the "under review" time, it was about 7-10 days (weekends included). Not too shabby. You should be approved before you know it! :star:

Oops, sorry, I thought when Vareska said "under review" time, she was strictly talking about final review. That's only 7-10 days. I didn't realize she meant from the day she mailed it. My bad.

No, you're good. I was actually asking about both.

I decided my case will take 15 days from when IV it enters system to complete.

No one can convince me otherwise

Piece of advice - plan for 24 days, that way when it's 15 days you'll be on cloud nine!!!! (Like me yesterday!!!)

Welcome!!!

From what I understand you actually won't get an RFE, you'll be asked to bring original documents to the interview.

That's correct!! Don't worry to much.

BTW, welcome to the group! :star:

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!

I'M PREGNANT...again...or am still maybe...

my doc says im 6 weeks n 5 days....but what I don't understand is that I supposedly miscarried...on may 22nd......which was supposed to be like the 3rd or 4th week....I remember it clearly...it was the worst...and it hurt horribly....but now my doc says she can see a sac in my ultrasound and all of a sudden I'm 6 weeks n 5 days prego!!!! WTH is that? I asked her how does that all pan out and she goes....maybe we were mistaken...or maybe you got pregnant VERY VERY SOON!!!! I was like....JEEZ ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Stupid Pakistani doctors!!! I wish I was in the states at least I'd know what's going on inside me right? LOL!

Anyways, we got more ultrasounds done from 4 different places and the result was the same, they all say I'm 6-7 weeks...so I either never miscarried (god I hope so!!!) and the doctors aren't smart enough to give me the proper age of my fetus....or I did miscarry unfortunately and I'm pregnant again!!!!! VERY VERY QUICKLY AT THAT! LOL!! Or they are not looking at the size of the baby..but rather the last time I had my period....which I wrote down as the day I thought I miscarried.....though that would make it 2-3 weeks...IDK!!!!!! ARGH.....I NEED A U.S DOC! NOW!LMAO!!!

I'm going w/ the time they've all written...6 weeks 5 days just to be safe..........though I'm pretty happy either way!!!! Hoping for a boy!!!!!!! yet...again, HAPPY EITHER WAY!!!!

I'm so happy....I've framed the ultrasounds all over the house!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

YEAH!!!

YEAH!!!

:D

Yeeeaaa!! It is SO nice to hear you so happy again. :luv:
