It's not very different at all in Pakistan either, on my wedding certificate they automatically put his address as mine....I mean admittedly I was staying there at the time....but that wasn't supposed to be my address...then they did the same thing with my affidavits for the bonafides...I had 2 and both showed my address as my husbands, which isn't true. They tried to add my husbands last name but thank god I had told them not to beforehand. Men are quite lead-headed! I mean they honestly think we automatically are willing to give up our background and heritage, just throw it away.....because supposedly we're just soooooo lucky to be married...like it's the biggest blessing...lol. I'm sure it is....to be honest it's the best being married to my husband but really..........I was alive before marrying him too, why should that all be thrown away and forgotten. I'm soooo glad my husband never asked me to take his name....in fact he's so used to my name since we were little....the teacher always calling it cause I (the little teachers pet that I was and am) would always have my hand up before everyone. He's too used to it...and loves it. :D:D

I don't think I will be submitting those affidavits any longer.........I feel they just might cause more trouble than good you know.

Hi! Mind if I join your discussion?, I'm a january filer, but just like all of you guys, I'm also anxiously waiting for or NOA2.

Your exchange with taj regarding keeping one's maiden name caught my attention, as I'm in the same boat with both of you, we've been married for almost 4yrs now but all my legal documents are still in my maiden name, not because I don't wanna carry my hubby's last name, but I just find it rather tedious to have all those docs ammended here in the Philippines, told hubby that I'll just amend everything when I get to US someday soon, and he's ok with it, tho deep inside I know he's been wanting for me to use his surname for a long time now :)

Yeah that's exactly what I plan to do. I think I'll keep my last name but add his last name as my middle. But I only want to do this once everything is out of the way and it is easy for me to change and amend things...once I don't need to use the documents for the immigration precedings and what not.

BTW, welcome.^_^

so many people have gotten their approvals in under a week........for example carlish and Holliday. That is great news for everyone else here. And I'm just glad to know it's not just vsc that's speeding up csc (I believe carlish may have used csc as she resides in cali) hasn't completely slowed down either. Getting approved in 7 or under days sounds like a dream.......wish I could be living that dream. lol. ^_^

Let's keep our hopes up!!!

And everyone it would be great if you could :time: . Thanx.

.............................. :clock: :clock: :clock:

No NOA2 yet. I only received the NOA1.

I just realized a possible problem about my application. I really have a long name, first name, 2nd name, middle name, and last name. But in our marriage certificate, they only listed my first name, middle initial, and last name. Would that be a problem, you think? If it was a problem, can I still fix it and get an amendment to maybe add my 2nd name? This has been driving me nuts.

I believe you can get your name changed by calling the uscis right now if you like. although, I don't know if this may or may not add an extra few weeks to a month or not to the total wait time.....I do know that when you request an address change it can add a month or two to wait time...I don't know if a name change would have the same affect. I think you'd be safer off if you changed your name to the one on all your documents though....

Waiting for possible RFE is a bummer so I've decided to try to take care of the problem about our marriage certificate and have it amended/rectified to add my second name. I contacted the local registrar office where we got married in the Philippines, and fortunately, they're willing to help us as we've only been married for over a month. They will try to fix it and give us the amended copy.

If I indeed get an RFE for the original marriage certificate with my incomplete name, I can always resubmit the amended/rectified copy our marriage certificate. But if everything goes well at USCIS, I can just submit the amended/rectified marriage certificate with the DS-230 (visa application). Hopefully thing will go smoothly. I'd rather have my names match in all documents to avoid problems.

sent mine by priority with tracking number and confirmation! it was only 5$...

and i just stuck to the basics with the evidences...

people i wanna hear ur stories...vent it out...rant it out...

Why didn't you file DCF?

i could have filed for DCF, my husband would have been with me now, but i couldnt for personal reasons and really stupid reasons and it is a very big misfortune...i still feel bitter about it too.

if you havent read my story...well here it is...i got pregnant and we were not married at that time yet. to add to that, my parents never liked my husband when we were dating...i came from a very conservative religous strict roman catholic family and my husband is muslim and from a conservative religous muslim family. we were both students so imagine the anger the parents felt. but now they all have chilled...my mom takes care of my son and my husband lives with my parents...i could not file for DCF because since we were students, we had no source of income...not even enough money to pay for the $355 filing fee...and i guess it would be considered "shameful" to ask relatives to be co sponsors....

so i made our way...after graduation i left and came back to the united states, found a job and now im confident that we will be together again...

Darlin' you have my thoughts and prayers with you on your journey. I hope it is quick and you and your family is together again VERY VERY SOON.

I'm thinking of filing I129F as well, but I'm still not sure.

As for the US Embassy Manila issuing a CR-1 Visa for your husband, to be honest I have no idea. But I don't see any reason why they wouldn't allow it as he's been living in the Philippines for years. But to be sure, you better check it out ASAP or have your husband call the Embassy. Goodluck!

I mailed my I-130 application and supporting documents on 02/26/09. It was delivered to Chicago PO BOX on 2/27/09.

I'm not sure if I be in line with Feb or March filers.

Good Luck to Everyone!!

Waiting patiently for my NOA1 :D

I believe it would depend if NOA1 is issued in Feb. or March.

Good luck! All that counts is you filed!!!!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
