OK so I am off to the post office to send our AOS packet...

I am so unbelievably nervous that I am thinking I will forget something.

I don't know why I am so stupid, but I am shaking right now

Wish me luck!

I remember feeling exactly the same way when I sent our packages. It's normal. LOL

Just imagine how I'm feeling right now that my husband's interview is just around the corner? I'm a nervous wreck! :crying:

Goodluck! :star:

Congrats on getting the interview date, Kevin! That's awesome!

Hey Carlish, are you flying out today? I think I remember you saying that... Oh wait nevermind. Today is Wednesday. (I thought it was Thursday. Hehe. Oops.)

Hey Holliday, do you get the feeling that Montreal is the only one who hasn't schedule interviews? lol Dummies.

Yes, I DO get that feeling! I was trying to find logic in the scheduling order, but alas, I couldn't. I'm getting pretty antsy. I don't even care when the interview is, I just want to freakin' know! It's so difficult to plan for anything without knowing. I had told my extended family back in December that I'd be having a wedding reception type thing before I move, since most of them couldn't go to the actual wedding (you know, since it was in Dallas and at a hockey game haha), so yeah, I kinda need to plan that. Actually my Mom kinda needs to plan it (yay Mom! I HATE planning things!), but can't since we don't know when my husband will be here. And that's another thing, it would be nice to know when the interview is so that I'll know whether or not my husband can get the time off to go with me, or if I'll have to go by myself...

OK so I am off to the post office to send our AOS packet...

Oh yeah it is :)

I guess that's a good idea, so here's what I sent:

I-864EZ form (hopefully I chose the right form, my husband is the only immigrant I am sponsoring, neither of us have any dependents and I am using my income alone to establish sponsorship)

6 months worth of pay stubs from my current employer

Hmmm since the corporation I work for refused to write me an employment verification letter, I sent a copy of the request I faxed to them, the response they sent me that they stamped where they recommend that the party seeking to verify my employment go to www.theworknumber.com and access information there with my company ID. So, I made a copy of that letter and the envelope which again shows the headquarter's address, and I also went to worknumber and created a salary key access, so if NVC wants to check my income, they can. The print out shows my name at least, so hopefully this works ...

IRS issued tax transcripts for years 2007 and 2006

copy of my 2008 tax return

copy of my 2008 W-2s

copy of W-7 application I sent to obtain ITIN

the tracking number and receipt that shows I mailed that W-7 and my return to IRS

print out from US postal office website that shows the tracking number above was delivered to IRS address

AOS bar coded cover sheet

Letter I wrote to explain why I am sending all this extra ####### :)))

Did I miss anything? I sent it to this address:

National Visa Center

Attn: WC

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 200

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2915

( I read somewhere on VJ that this is the new address, hope to God I am right :))

It sounds to me that you have everything in order! If you're really feeling ambitious you could write your case number on each page that you're submitting. I made my husband do that just in case something got mixed up. And maybe have one last look at the I-864EZ to make sure everything has been completed and signed. It may put your mind at ease. Seriously, it looks like you have all your bases covered. You'll be fine!

As for the address, I honestly don't know which is the correct one now. Mine was sent about a day before they changed the address. I have a feeling that even if you send it to the wrong address, it will be forwarded to the proper department.

Thanks love, I feel better already :)

The only thing that worries me now is trying to figure out should I have written for the immigrant's mailing address his address abroad, or should I put mine, because he named me as agent of choice and all mail form NVC should come to me. I wrote his address abroad, but now that word "mailing" address is sticking out in my mind like a sore thumb...

I guess they have the choice of agent form on file, so they'll figure it out, but I am a little obsessive like that :)

You mean for question #2 in part 2? My husband wrote my address in Canada there, and that was just fine. They've never sent me any mail. :)

Hey guys,

So I've got another question....if anyone's up to it...

My parents have filed for an extension for 2008 taxes....the problem is that they have not received any correspondence relating to the extension...all that they received was the mail/postal receipt. I will be sending 2006 2007 and 2008 info. I plan to send my parents 2006 and 2007 tax transcripts plus 1040s and 1099s. Then for 2008 I plan to send the receipt for the extension...delivery receipt i believe it was. 6 months of mothers pay stubs, POSSIBLY an employment letter and fathers 6 months worth of paychecks and employment letter from boss. From myself along with my own i864(parents will be filling out i864a) I will be sending a detailed letter explaining why I have not filed taxes and why I am not required to file them according to irs publication 17 for all three years. (Thanx a bunch trinket!!! ^_^)

My question(s) is/are....

would it be okay if I just sent the delivery receipt my parents were mailed....it seems that they have not received any other sort of letter from the irs but they still have their extension....so I believe this should be good enough right??????What say you?.....

Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary that my mother and father provide employment letters...what if one, or both cannot get them.....wouldn't the paychecks and pay stubs be enough?

Am I doing things right or.........very very wrong?

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. and Congrats to all the other interview schedules.

Remo28 Congragulations - I see ur from Dallas 2 - i m hoping to head out there 2 INSHALLAH.

Good luck with the interview will be in touch

Thanks, man. We should definitely stay in touch :)

danat, Remo and dvrjwh!!

Quick question for you and all others who have sent their documents. How many of you have sent both AOS and Ds-230 together in one Packet?? I sent my documents seperatly in two different packets!! Just wondering!! Thanks!!

I sent mine together, and i still got the false rfe. Actually, I had three false rfe's. In my opinion, you should not wait to send them together. Instead, send it the documents as soon as it is ready. Saves you time. Best of prayers.

( I read somewhere on VJ that this is the new address, hope to God I am right :))

You're fine. Everything will go smoothly. :)

do you have the form 4868? If yes, send that in with your docs.

Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary that my mother and father provide employment letters...what if one, or both cannot get them.....wouldn't the paychecks and pay stubs be enough?

No, employment letters of the sponsors other than petitioners are not required. So, basically, you dont have to send your father's or mother's employment letter.

To each is a goal to which God turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good.

I don't know if I have an extension. I have not applied for one. I have called my contact for the Advocacy team and will ask for the extension for the past 3 years.

I am a little confused. Have you never filed a tax return in the US? or are you just wanting an irs transcript?

To each is a goal to which God turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good.

4868??? I have no clue what that is. All I know is that my parents say that all they have received is the delivery receipt confirming the letters delivery and what not......they are saying there is no other letter or form to wait for...the receipt means extension.
